i guess, it's more to do w/ Tendulkar not quite being convinced by URDS. if I recall correctly, Tendulkar had shown his displeasure at it and that's enough to guide BCCI :P

I hope we get more bad decisions in that Test series and loose it badly..and I pray those bad decisions go against these seniors i.e. Sachin, Dravid, Laxu... we Indian fans keep moaning and crying about Sydney Fiasco, Srilankas 12 player i.e. Dharamsena but when it comes to implementing UDRS, BCCI and seniors pu$$y outt!!! Makes us Indians look like buch of Hypocritess!!!

No UDRS for India-Australia Tests The Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) will not be used for the India-Australia Tests in October. "There won't be any UDRS in the series. We have already written to the International Cricket Council," the BCCI's chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty told PTI. As per ICC regulations, the host country - in this case India - takes the call on whether to use the UDRS in consultation with the visiting team. Cricket Australia always supported the use of the UDRS unlike the BCCI, which has resisted it since India and Sri Lanka became the first teams to experiment with the system in a three-Test series in July and August 2008. The BCCI's decision is not unexpected but will have its impact on a series during which all the technology to implement the UDRS will be available in India, as reported by Cricinfo. The only beneficiaries of the system will be the TV audience during the series and not the cricketers. When asked if the UDRS will be used in the World Cup in the subcontinent in 2011, Shetty said the decision rested with the ICC, for the tournament was an ICC event. The ICC approved the implementation of the controversial system for the World Cup in July, subject to agreements over costs and equipment between the broadcast partner, ESPN STAR Sports, and the host nations. India is the only team which is not just going with the flow - for the sake of it. I appreciate the team and the management's courage and determination. It takes guts to stand up against a lot of gutter criticism in this matter. Now this again provides another chance for the proponents of Hawk Eye to come up with actual legitimate proof that unequivocally answers and/or addresses the Indians' concern. This is NOT a matter for Hawkins to settle with Gary Kirsten within the confines of a room. The fans are the greatest stakeholders of the game. They deserve to know. I hope this opportunity is taken by the technology experts and some light is shed on the capabilities and more importantly the actual error margins of the technology. Without knowing that, any implementation of these technologies is bound to be limited - in scope and results.

8/9 test playing nations are happy to accept the UDRS and use it. Just one is not ready. They need legitimate proof, not whatever proof that might have been provided to the other and 8 led them to accept it, and are not even willing to give it an opportunity and test it. Good luck to them when it comes and bites their bum during a crucial match in the ODI world cup. I assume The BCCI are just delaying it untill they find a way of making some money with UDRS. UDRS

Anybody with the ability to do a little bit of research will be able to separate the grain from the chaff - at least in this case. Let private parties defend themselves. Let them provide proof. Why are we so eager to build their case - even without proof?

They haven't had hotspot in tests played in SA/WI/NZ.

Naah they didn't have hotspot in SA and NZ. Only Channel 9 and Sky in UK have got the 4 hotspot cameras availabe around the world. SO only series played in Aus/Eng will have the hotspot or if a host broadcaster can get rent out Hotspot cameras from these two entities.. In fact IIRC, hotspot isn't even a part of the UDRS minimum requirements. Its an additional tool that is used when available. As for SA-WI series, they did have the UDRS there.
