cowboysfan Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I did this 3 years ago and it was one of the most memorable experiences in my life.Every year the gauley river in West Virginia becomes a mecca for white water rafters as the dam waters are released(in september) and you can experience the the best white water rafting in the US.be warned though as it multiple class 5 rapids as you go down the river and atleast one of you is always going to end up in the river(as my uncle found out).book early because of the tight schedule. you might also try the bridge day experience .Bridge Day is the largest extreme sports event and the largest gathering of BASE jumpers in the world, held on the third Saturday in October every year in Fayetteville, West Virginia.http://www.bridgeday.info/.Its on oct 16 imagine jumping off this bridge its 900 feet high.

I think you need to be qualified for the base jumping(made prior jumps).its not for beginners,it would be fun if you coincide your rafting trip to bridge day so that you can watch the base jumpers.
