Lol, this primary season is getting more and more disastrous for the republicans. State after state, their establishment candidates are being beaten by the Tea-party backed nominees and the candidates themselves are getting whackier and whackier by the minute. Just look at some of the names that have won the republican party’s nomination in this year’s primary season. Sharron Angle (Nevada) – She has been nominated to run against Democratic Senate majority leader Harry Reid, who had an approval rating of 38% then. But the moment Angle won, his ratings have absolutely skyrocketed and he is tipped to retain that seat. No surprises there, just look at some of Angle’s positions. She wants to bring back alcohol prohibition and has warned that citizens might resort to ‘2nd amendment rememdies’ (cue; Guns), if they don’t like the direction in which the country is going. Rand Paul (Kentucky) – The consummate libertarian, he is against the 1964 civil rights act. Says private businesses have the right to discriminate. Joe Miller (Alaska) – He beat the establishment candidate Lisa Mckowski there. He wants to abolish the IRS and the Department of education and privatize social security. George Paladino (NY) – Won the Republican nomination for Governor. He has been caught in a firestorm after he allegedly sent offensive e-mails containing beatiality porn and racist content directed against President Obama And now, Mrs. Chritine O’Donnell – Another right-winger soo extreme, she’s advocating people to follow ‘total’ abstinence. Because of all thsese Cuckoo candidates getting nominated, the republicans are in grave danger of losing senate seats that they were previously guaranteed to win. The Republicans loved the tea-party when they stormed all the health care town halls and held all those tea-bag protests in D.C. Now, the devil they fostered and fed is now coming back to haunt them..:haha:

There is a general tendency of the voters (especially the conservatives) to favor the anti-establishment candidates, no matter what their credentials are. The Tea party has certainly mobilized the conservative base. On the other hand the Democratic base is rather disenchanted by Obama. Republicans may lose some winnable seats due to bad choice of Tea party candidates but over all they have gained immensely with the mobilization of the Tea party. It is also interesting to follow the fate of the handful of Indian Americans in the fray, most of them running for the House as Democrats. Sadly, this is going to be a bad year for Democrats and it will be difficult for these newcomer Indian Americans to pick up the seats.

The Dems are DEFINITELY retaining control of the senate. As far as the house is concerned, I wouldnt be sure if i were you. The Dems are are now literally tied with the republicans among registered voters, recovering from a staggering 10 pt difference only two weeks ago. Plus, the Republicans have promised to fillibuster the DoD Armed forces bill (which authorizes funding for the US army in Iraq and Afghanistan) if it contains repeal of Dont-ask-dont-tell and the DREAM act and also the middle-class tax cut bill, if it doesnt include tax cuts for the richest 2% of the Americans. The Dems are sure to use that against them. Above everything, once Obama gets into top-gear campaigning mode, then wait and see how the mood swings. He's the Democrats' 'Kraken'. :--D gb2zIR2rvRQ
