Gunner_Mania Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Final Pick : Ishant after a long thought. How long?? 4 minutes:winky:
diegovegaz Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Pujara Viru Dravid Goddy VVS Raina Dhoni Bhajji (Ashwin if injured) Zaheer Ojha Sree you want to open with pujara? i agree, pujara deserves a place in the team, but if either of our openers is injured, murali vijay is the goto option
ZodiaC Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 you want to open with pujara? i agree, pujara deserves a place in the team, but if either of our openers is injured, murali vijay is the goto option Why, are there any better options for opening? :dontknow: I don't see chintu playing at any other positions except as an opener. All other slots are filled. :hmmm: And though it may seem a bit unfair to Vijay who's just played 7 tests, I'd go with Pujara for his ability to play a long innings. MVJ couldn't play anything substantial except for that 50 vs SL.
achilles Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Agree with OP's lineup. And I think we are in big trouble if Gambhir's form doesn't improve. sachdan was supposed to open this thread :whine: What a wonderful post #6106... I mean, what a superb contribution to the thread :icflove: And though it may seem a bit unfair to Vijay who's just played 7 tests' date=' I'd go with Pujara for his ability to play a long innings. MVJ couldn't play anything substantial except for that 50 vs SL.[/quote'] Vijay had a decent debut against the Aussies in 2008. He's evolved into a slogger, but I think he would still make the cut over Pujara. Whether Pujara becomes a main-stay in our MO is something only time will tell.

Holysmoke Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Gumby Sehwag RSD SRT VVS Raina Dhoni Zak Sree Ishant Ashwin:eyedance:
KING OF PUNJAB Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Gambir Sehwag Draivd Tendulkar Laxman Raina MSD Harbhajan sree Ishant aswin
VRV Singh Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Sehwag Gambhir Dravid Tendulkar Laxman Raina Dhoni Harbhajan Zaheer Khan Ojha I Sharma If GG isn't fit then FTBMurali opens
Gunner_Mania Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Ashwin's not in the first test squad He should be drafted in as a replacement if Harbhajan is unavailable.
Laaloo Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 He should be drafted in as a replacement if Harbhajan is unavailable. :two_thumbs_up:
zen Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Sehwag Gauti Dravid Sachin Laxman RAina Dhoni Harbhajan ZAK Ishant Sree I would probably go with that one too unless there is something in the pitch for the spinners
thevortex Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 3 pacers against Oz in Indian pitches? No effing way. Do you think aus will have trouble facing our pacers (trundlers) in Indian pitches? :hmmm: 2 pacers and 2 spinners are ideal. Sehwag can be used as the 5th bowler. Sounds good.. but then you ought not to layout a flat batting track with this attack! Put in a turner and things will be better. Do we have the guts to do that?
Lord Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Sounds good.. but then you ought not to layout a flat batting track with this attack! Put in a turner and things will be better. Do we have the guts to do that? why not,Aus best is Hauritz,we can handle him surely
thevortex Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 why not' date='Aus best is Hauritz,we can handle him surely[/quote'] India will not risk acrimony from Australia/England and others by playing a turner. If the ball turns on the first day, it is anathema you see. But its alright to see the ball seaming and bouncing head high even on the 5th day. Thats how it is...and thats how India will be playing it.
gaurav92 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 How long?? 4 minutes:winky: Well for me not being a selector, and taking 4 mins. is quite some time isn't it ? :winky:
Sachin_Rulez Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Dravid is the weak link in our batting line up. Sad but true!
rabinjackman Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Rajiv has opened another match thread :hmmm:
ViruRulez Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 i think Sree looks unlikely for this game(we might regret this decision) my team gambhir viru Dravid sachin vvs raina dhoni bhajji zak ojha sree Ishant instead of Sree .. rest is fine

We can easily see off Hauritz if we could do so with mendis, randiv etc. in SL dust bowls.
