King Tendulkar Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 A question for those venting against Barkha who is pretty much beyond your reach hence whatever you say is as pointless as punching in vacuum .... what have you done about those on this very forum who openly express the same sentiments but are much more accesible and can be forced to explain and answer to your questions if you put your mind to it ? A lot. But when they start to face criticism and start losing the argument. They edit threads, delete posts, ban posters or lock threads which dont siut there agenda. Eg ayodha thread which has been locked for no good reason I can see.

But way NDTV managed to suck up to Congress esp. Rahul Gandhi after elections was just distasteful. Although, I do believe that NDTV represent what I call "secular fanatics" in media who have often distorted facts or manipulated news in terms of tone or coverage to malign RSS or BJP.

Are people really expecting Mods and members to espouse the "Lets throw all ppl of a certain religion out of India or they all have to convert" philosophy? Rightly - such a hatred against any religion is not appreciated, and isn't that the right thing to do anyway? We cannot generalize and spread more hatred. There is enough in the world already!
fineleg Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 While I dont claim to be an expert on the holy book, I do know there are lots of people from that religion who are just like you and me - they have a family, they have a job, and they go about their life. They are not destructive. I am not saying there are no criminals - there are some that carry out evil activities and they are criminal, just that we should not generalize it to mean everyone of that faith. In this world there are good people, and there are criminals and there are shades of grey. This is beyond and above faith, nationality, ethnicity etc. There are criminals in every type of community. Our govt should be focused on punishing the criminals, and no let up of that is advised by anyone here. The main point is to Not generalize it and apply the "criminal" tag to everyone even though they are just leading normal lives. Thats the main point I'm trying to communicate.

Bossy, there are lot of things that are good in that book which are interpreted in a wrong way. Its not the book, but the preachers who mess up things mostly. As a human we have to have compassion for masses. Honestly, I do not know much about Burkha Dutt. But if she is what has been said on this thread and little bit through that video, I dont find her worthy of any attention.

We are only saying Do not generalize, we are not saying there are no criminals in that faith. But just because some whackos are extremists, we need not accuse all people of an entire faith. If you adopt that extreme stance, then you also become an extremist (in viewpoint), ain't it?

Taking to violence is the main criminal activity, and there are whackos doing that. Whoever is indulging in violence need to be arrested and jailed. Barkha dutt wants govt of India to talk to the likes of Gilani who just a couple of months back were caught on tap discussing need to get few more people killed during riots to get more sympathy. Besides BJP (for obvious reasons), none have the will to put these traitors behind bars when it comes to kashmir as a citizen of India i cant even buy a 1cm * 1cm of land so lets not even talk about law of land. Also lets stop blaming mods; there was a thread long time back where they had listed reasons why they cannot tolerate extreme religious posts.
