Rohit Sharma now has 367 runs in 2 ranji matches!! Wonderful start for him. Can we please let him play the entire season of domestic cricket. WIll help him mature better. Lets not picking him for a few ODIs in between and then drop him again. One full season of domestic cricket scoring runs everywhere will help him much more than those ODI matches which he is likely to play once again very soon.

Mumbai vs Bengal Rohit's double ton lifts Mumbai Talented Mumbai batsman Rohit Sharma made full use of three missed catches by Bengal fielders as he slammed an unbeaten 200 to help defending champions Mumbai pile up a mammoth 621 for eight against Bengal in the Ranji Trophy Super League Group A match, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, on Thursday. At stumps on the second day, Bengal were 28 for one having lost Arindam Das who edged one to Omkar Gurav behind stumps off Avishkar Salvi. However, the day undoubtedly belonged to Rohit who made amends for missing out on a three-figure mark during Mumbai's opening encounter against Saurashtra when he was out for 93 in the first innings. It was Rohit's ninth first-class double hundred. He faced 257 deliveries hitting 23 boundaries and three sixes during his six-hour and 23 minute stay at the crease. The youngster was lucky when he was dropped thrice before his score reached 40. After debutant Writam Porel dropped him on Wednesday off Ashok Dinda, Rohit was dropped twice on day two off Ranadeb Bose's bowling. The catching of the hosts has been atrocious this season having already dropped seven catches in two matches so far. While Abhishek Nayar (19) and Ajit Agarkar (4) were quickly dismissed within the first seven overs with scoreboard reading 313 for six, it was Iqbal Abdulla (81, 95 balls, 12x4) who stepped up the tempo with some lusty hitting. Abdulla along with Rohit added 144 runs for the seventh wicket and scored 163 runs in the first session. Uthappa tore apart the Punjab bowling attack as the hosts toiled hard to take wickets. He also weaved important partnerships of 130 and 89 for the third and fourth wicket with Ganesh Satish (55) and Manish Pandey (49) respectively. The right-handed batsman Uthappa whose knock of 149 came from 182 balls that included 16 hits to the fence and two sixes, was unlucky to be dismissed run out late in the day. Assam were on the backfoot, having lost seven wickets on the opening day, and then folding for 187 early but they reduced the Railways to 164 for eight. Railways are still trailing by 23 runs and if Assam manage to get the remaining two wickets within that deficit, they will get the first innings lead, which will fetch them three points in case of a draw. At stumps, Jai P Yadav (30) and Kulamani Parida (3) were at the crease for the hosts. Assam began day two at 174 for seven and lost the three wickets after adding another 13 runs at the Karnail Singh stadium. At close of play, Tamil Nadu was 122 for five, 196 behind Delhi's 318. This after the host had enjoyed a near-perfect first session, in which its bowlers dismissed Delhi's last six for just 60, with R. Ashwin scalping his ninth first class five-for. The off-spinner looked in superb rhythm, and constantly made the ball jump at the batsmen — this didn't happen on day one. Kohli first to go At the start of play, the course of the match seemed to hinge on how far Virat Kohli, on 119 overnight, would manage to extend his innings. As it turned out, he was first to go, flicking Ashwin uppishly to short midwicket. Ashwin polished off his last two with the carrom ball — Parvinder Awana leg-before playing down the wrong line and Pawan Suyal caught at silly-point. Rajat Bhatia wasn't available due to a fracture. Inexperienced Delhi attack Delhi took a big risk by opting for a rather inexperienced attack against the seasoned Tamil Nadu batting line-up. Amongst the three new bowlers drafted in, one's making his debut and the other two have just a couple of matches under their belts. Surprisingly, the new-look attack punched much above its weight to have Tamil Nadu reeling at 122 for 5 in reply to Delhi's 318 all out at draw of stumps on Day Three. Delhi management would be both happy and relieved at their performance, for the decision to field a largely inexperienced attack could easily have boomeranged. The newcomers, however, kept the faith. Left arm spinner Vikas Mishra, in particular, bowled really well to finish the day with three wickets. He bowled a steady line and length, and forced the batsmen to make mistakes. But before he got down to business, Parvinder Awana and Pawan Suyal gave Delhi a bright start. Suyal, forced a return catch early on from Abhinav Mukund to push the hosts on the back foot. The TN batsmen looked ill at ease as both Awana and Suyal bowled quick, with the occassional short-pitched deliveries. Mishra then tied down the batsmen further. He had S.
