He had also remarked this: "Teams that are outclassed in five-day matches and even 50-over games are much more competitive in Twenty20. India offer a good example of this. The shorter the format of the game the more dangerous they become," "Some of their batsmen -- Yuvraj Singh and M S Dhoni are classic examples -- can hurt you more in shorter games, because their is less opportunity to find ways of picking apart their techniques," he while adding that "Form in Twenty20 really doesn't count for all that much". Having said so, Ponting also dismissed India's successful journey to the T20 world title, attributing it to more luck and little skills. "I am not as cynical about the game as I once was, but some negatives still nag at me. There is so much luck involved in this shortened form of the game; it's not always going to be the best team that wins. I guess that's true of all sport but it seems to be accentuated here... Little wonder, then, that the tournament has been unpredictable, with many locals stunned that previously unbeaten South Africa was eliminated so comfortably by India," he said. http://www.expressindia.com/latest-news/Dhonis-boys-won-T20-WC-by-luck-Ponting/387297/

Not taking that bait mister  Ponting would be chewing his words now... it was his team which reached the finals of WC T20 while during the same time has slipped from World no.1 to 4 and very probably No.5 in test cricket......

What does Ponting have to do with Murali's taunts? I just said it to show that Aussie crowds are jerks too. Do you realize that you are talking about Indian crowds against one of the most hated teams here?? We are jerks but we reserve the worst for Aussies.
Yeah in simple words tit for tat, you don't really have any moral high ground as such to jeer him, its merely hatred for OZ personified in the form of Punter. Ok then I got nothing more to say.
Why did "B" even come in? Did i say that we should copy aussies? You said it. You wanted us to be as courteous to them as they are to Sachin. Do you even remember the stick Ganguly used to get?
I chose the example of the Ozzies goodwill towards SRT and you chose their boorish drunken behaviour as an example. Fair enough.

"A few of the Indians have reacted very much with aggressive body language and trying to force themselves upon us' date= and I think the way some of them are playing their cricket that they have also misinterpreted what aggressive cricket means." Ever since Ponting said this during the ODI series of 2007, he has lost the moral authority to feel undone by disrespect from the Indian public . An international captain saying such a thing about a national cricket team is shamefull to say the least and Ponting deserves what he is getting.
And so what? I fail to understand the lost his moral authority part, please do explain.

The respect they give for Tendulkar is more than reciprocated in the way we've treated Aussie cricketers like Gilly and Warne, not just in tests but also in IPL, in India... Just because they respect Tendulkar doesn't mean we have the obligation to respect every Aussie who comes here... they ought to earn it..

But you are yet to make a valid point on what Ponting has said or done for which he should be jeered. The simple point is everything revolves around the acrimony of the sydney test, because before or since then Ponting hasn't really said or done anything against India to deserve all these jeers.

Sydney 08 :dontknow: That single game will mean the SOB is jeered everytime he steps foot on Indian soil
If we take Sydney 08, did punter force or beat up Bucknor to give all those batsmen out?

The same bangalore crowd bust into loud cheers when they showed Gilchrist on screen!! I remember being there in the ground during the test match vs the Aussies in 2004. Punter was injured and Gilly was leading the Aussies. After the win, Gilly and his boys took a lap of honour. Ponting also joined them. Each and every Aussie player including Punter got loud applause from the crowd that day. So its not that Bangalore crowd has always booed punter. It's really the events of 2007-08 that is resulting into such extreme reaction at many a places.

Come on .. they have prob with everything .. If there is no crowd in CWG they complain .. When crowd comes they call them monkey and complain abt noise (This is how crowd make noise there.. we don't clap 2-3 times and sit idle) .. Complain abt if track will be ready after opening ceremony (Was ready well before track and field started) .. complain abt dirty pool water (tests confirm pool water is of international standard) .. Then this NZ guy making some racial comments on national TV .. Today there was some news abt OZ police making fun of Indians .. They Complain abt booing .. but ponting was booed in every match at ashes .. So there must be soemthing wrong with the player rather the crowd .. Its time tht we Indians stop thinking us to be any less than those guys ... Of course there r negatives abt CWG preparation and other stuff.. but the way Eng and Aus media presents the thing its absolutely pathetic .. There r still some guys in India who believe in white ass licking .. I am not saying just bash them everywhere but for the god sake have some self respect and think urself to be equal with anyone ..

And also I am pretty sure had Ponting been a regular IPLer, things might be different... You got to familiarise yourself with the crowd, just because you are the Australian captain, you don't garner respect...
