VRV Singh Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 “If the situation favoured Pakistan in England and if we had stayed away from controversies, Pakistan would’ve beaten them five nil in the One-Day Internationals (ODI)". if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle
Mamu Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Those days are gone. I think some people still fantasize with Pak team of the past with its talent and "unpredictability". They have 3-4 good players which most international sides have. :haha::haha: Do you want me to list their record in the last 3 or 4 years ? Not sure what you are talking about. Listen mate -- they did very very good in Engerland to win 2 tests they needed all the assistance they could from Rain Gods, Cloud Gods and all the luck they wanted to win those, even though they barely managed to scrap thru, I am not taking away anything from them, but to call them talented is far-fetched !
Mamu Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I can name 8 players that would get into any T20/ODI side or run very very close Shahid Afridi Umar Akmal Mo Yousuf Umar Gul Shoaib Akhtar Mohammed Aamer Saeed Ajmal Mohammed Asif Saeed Ajmal > Bhajji Gul > Useless Indian Seamer Mohammed Aamer> Ishant Sharma Afridi > Jadeja Thats a couple of the top of my head Stop being biased, appreciate good players from any country I was mainly talking about tests, where actually the word "Talent" holds its true meaning. And if you think you have 8 talented players --- can you list how many Test Series and ODI Series you have won in the last 5 years ?
putrevus Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 There is lot of misconception going around about their bowling, their bowling with Asif and Amir look good only in helpful conditions. In those conditions every bowling attack looks great. but in last decade and half what batting talents apart from Yusuf and Younis have emerged from Pakistan. Their bowling attack is okay but not that great to overcome their lousy batting and fielding, it take all three facets to win games.
yoda Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 If Aamer' date=Asif,Younis Khan and Salman Butt was playing then 5-0 or 4-1 would of been the result. Shoaib Akhtar got 4-0-20-4 vs the Wolves in a must win game for Isalamabad Leapords. 3 wickets in his 1st over Yes, I heard Majeed say so. :hysterical:
vvvslaxman Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 These pakistan fans, cricketers, administrators nobody can match when it comes to hyping themselves. THey over-rate themselves more than English fans over-rate their players. That says something.
vvvslaxman Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 What talent you are talking about ? Anyone who closes his eye blindly and swings the bat has talent according to pakistan
triam Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Shahid Afridi Umar Akmal Mo Yousuf Umar Gul Shoaib Akhtar Mohammed Aamer Saeed Ajmal Mohammed Asif Except Aamer and to some extent gul none will make Indian team. Asif sucks in T20 and ODI, Ajmal is definitely lesser than Harbi, MOYO in ODI or t20??? hahahahhaa
Clarke Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 IF thats their favorite word in the world. If our fielders held their catches .. If our batsman played selfishly for personal records and not go after the bowling .. ........... If Shahid bhai was fed properly .. If Actor went to the gym and not his drug dealer .. If Ijaz Butt did not have his head up his ... ...........
ShahidAfridi Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Gul would walk into the indian side- His average is 26 Your premium bowler "Zaheer Khan" has an average of 29.......... Ajmals average is 29 while Harbhajan singh averages 32. Jadeja plays the all rounder role for India and Afridi is x10 better. Shoaib Akhtar is still a mile better than Ishant Sharma and he is 35 Yousuf averages 41 and has a SR of 75 compared to Dravids 39 and 71SR So sir, you are wrong

Zak picks up key wickets in key moments even on unhelpful surfaces. That's all we want. In that regard Zak is better than any of your bowler. Afretard completely upsets the balance of any team. Not even in million years he would walk into Indian side. Ajmal is a joke in Tests. Akhtar with his fitness would never be selected. Asif is one guy who might find a place. But with his drug history he would have already been banned for life. We are No.1 in tests and no.2 in ODIs without any of your "bowlers"

ShahidAfridi Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 ShahidAfridi -- I am still waiting for an answer here. Shoaib Akhtar didnt say anything about Pak being a good test team. When was the last time Pakistan played at home, playing at England is completely diffrent and the pitch that is like a typical Pakistan pitch (Oval, Flat and reverse swing is key was no suprise to me that Pakistan won there test match there and there ODI match) Even though the support was like home, the conditions are completely diffrent. Pakistan performed excellently in the last ODI tournament and was the only team that really challenged Australia as the aussies claimed another trophy. Rumour has it that Pakistan lost that on purpose so India were eliminated, I dont know about that but the game was very close. Its about the performances in the ICC Tournaments that matter. Pak has out performed India in the last 2 ICC Tournaments and i expect thatto carry on in the world cup. I cant be bothered to search up the series question

We have Jadeja in the team to give the opposition a chance, Afridi will definitely do that job better, agreed. Zaheer Khan in 2 years less than Akthar has more wickets, so we will keep him and you can keep Akthar Dravid last played ODIS for India 3 years back, Mo yo hahahhahahahahaha, cant make the India Green Odi team. As I said apart from Aamer nobody walks into Indian team.

Remember the term -- "Living in Denial" so commonly used these days to describe people of a certain country. if a team has 8 talented players, they should never worry about playing at Home or England or the UAE, they should just be winning and not be living without winning a single series in 4 years now. And yes Test Cricket defines talent, not ODIs and T20s. If ODIs and T20s defined talent, India would have Yuvraj Singh and Yousuf Pathan as the most talented cricketers. Not sure if one can claim that.
Zap_Brannigan Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 We have Jadeja in the team to give the opposition a chance, Afridi will definitely do that job better, agreed. :hysterical::hysterical: Do you know what the worst part is, Mr. Afridi? Jadeja, someone who all Indian fans know is not a good player, on an average scores 30% more than Afretarded. Thats how good Afretarded is.
fineleg Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Havent seen too much of Saeed Ajmal, but he seems to be a bit tough for the batsmen to read him. Now his action may be suspect, that ICC will have to determine. Pak_Forever Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Of course we can. Just need to sort out our stupid board! It's board's fault to change captain every series, make a player like Yonus Yosuf sit out, let players get involved in internal politics before its too late, sifarshi players ahead of deserving players, let suspicious characters like Mazhar roam around the team, selectors don;t watch domestic players, lame domestic pitches etc etc. This board is corrupt and incompetent to core. It's not just under Ijazz Butt, but even before him we hardly had consistency with fair selection and captaincy. It's though good to see uncle Akthar still showing confidence as ever. He was awesome against England and hopefully will carry his form.
