Guest Gunner Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 LOL. Do you even know the basic tenets of a debate ? I don't have instances of his great knocks under sheer pressure that brought victory to India...unlike what his peers have played. If you have please feel free to share them.:giggle: Hahahaha, so do I call this a retreat? Come on you have nothing going for you, so stop making an ass out of yourself and wasting time. It is very easy to say that"oh, I dont have any instances since it has obviously never been done" but in the real world its just called dishonesty. Carry on son, I knew you were full of hot air.

After 8 years he has topped the ICC rankings ...something that he was done for only about 4 years of his entire 21 yr career ...but you know he has been " best batsman for over 2 decades " LOL. Look at other sports and see how the dominant players have consistently dominated the top ranking. Only blind eyed fans would come out with such retarded claims and assertions. Please don't even bother replying.

Raghav_12 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Why we are having this discussion with a troll of such high proportion? If somebody is arguing agsinst Sachin with such vitriol right at the time he is in best form of life, when even ardent fans of Ponting, Kallis started believing that Sachin is a notch above then others, then it must be a case of some kind of mental disturbance/problem.
kabira Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 >I don't have instances of his great knocks under sheer pressure that brought victory to India 1) Most Recent Test....38/2 with only newbies to follow, scores double and help india surpass the Aussie score. As soon as he outs we only score 9 runs. 2) Second innings, stays till the end 3) 155* agains Aussies in Chennai, India had conceded the lead. Totally set the game up. scored quickly too 4) Fourth Innings chase against England, where 4 down, stayed till the end 5) 111 in Joberg, in his first series in SA, scored 111 out of 227, batted with tail, if thats your criteria 6) 104* at SSC, his first tour in Lanka, our first test win outside India, after long time, We all know how tough is to beat Lanka, he scored in second innings, 7) 85 odd at Wankhede against windies, Low scoring game there, sets up nicely for india in 2nd innings. 8) 176 in Kolkatta, match saving knock, in 2nd innings. 9) 100* against Lanka when we had conceded big lead and were saving the test match.
Anakin Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 An illiterate follwer..you would be better off as a spectator. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Thanks, since that's your opinion, I appreciate it.
Deleted_User_1 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Abe chodo yaar, agar Paki partiot says SRT sucks, let it be! This thread is going nowhere. And why the F are my posts getting deleted? In this thread and another one. Post delete kyun barpa Thodi si gaali di hain Daaka toh nahin daala Chori to nahin ki hain
sarcastic Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I do think that it is now fair to rate Tendulkar to be rated a better batsman than anyone except Bradman. May be there are big names(other than Bradman) who are consistent and have higher averages but that will only be by a minor margin and those people are not outliers of their era like Sachin very much is to a good extent. I don't see it any insult or belittling of Sachin Tendulkar to be rated below Sir Bradman in any way.... Yes, SRT has been there for long time so consistent and highest runs/tons but somehow does not look that outlier as Bradman was during his days....(impeccable First class and Test Average with such as high conversion rate of 100's and 100's in to 200's and 300's etc.) It is a great pride for all Indian Cricket Fans that our own batsman is Second BEST batsman of all time among all people from all eras put together....:hatsoff:
achilles Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I'd say Sachin Tendulkar, Donald Bradman, Rahul Dravid rank together at #1.
Bradman99 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 I'd say Sachin Tendulkar' date=' Donald Bradman, Rahul Dravid rank together at #1.[/quote'] Interesting, I have a lot of respect for Dravid but equal 1st?

CSK Fan Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 An illiterate follwer..you would be better off as a spectator. Patriot you have such blind hatred for Sachin that you are pulling theories out of air and trying to fit numbers to it. Ain't gonna work buddy, you are just making a fool of yourself. You are so involved in micro-scopic disection that you are miles away from the whole picture and the whole picture is what makes a batsman, not selective bits and pieces
CSK Fan Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 :sarcastic_hand: :omg: It was " different" 1) Perhaps because that was chasing 1st innings of 550+ in Aus against Aus ? 2) Perhaps because that was in winning India's 1st test match in Aus in 20 years ? 3) Perhaps because Dravid had to fight against 4/85 ...as against 3/346 that Tendy did ? Can't expect a heavily blinkered person to understand the difference. LOL. I don't even want to waste my time on this, when the entire England press said Sehwag won the match for India. Gambhir scored 70 odd at the top, Yuvraj Scored 90 odd . VVS and BCL din't have such luxuries. But rehne de Boss, I don't want make efforts to wake up someone pretending to sleep. ok, we should all give up arguing with this guy. He clearly has no clue where he started his argument and where he is now on it. I have never seen anyone moving the goal post so much. And what irks me most is his hypocrisy Patriot answer this if you have one honest bone in your body 1) Why dont you ever criticise Dravid's slow scoring or failures in finishing things up? He has only been not out once in his career in 4th innings. What about strike rates making all the difference? 2) Why don't you criticise Sehwag not finishing the job he started? You claim Sachin choked when he got out against Pak in sight of victory. Sehwag got out when we still had 200+ left in that England match where Sachin was unbeaten but you still praise his knock. Isnt that double standards? 3) Why don't you question Laxman's failures or his carrer average? You always quote averages for Ponting. 4) Why don't you question Ponting failures, his getting out when he settled and call it choke too? What about his recent bad form? Finally, despite all the above having great strengths in their particular areas (Sehwag's strike rate, Dravid's resilence, Laxmans rear gaurd battles, etc), batting is a combination of all these and Sachin is the closest one comes to combining all of them into one package and delivering on a consitant basis. He also has his strength and weaknesses but at his best he is unstopabble, at his worst, still above others. When you study about protoplasm and nuclei, its easy to forget that we are discussing about a living creature which is a combination of millions of factor. That seems to be the case with you. Sometimes the most obvious answer (that Sacin has the greatest runs and is held in the highest regards by all experts, ex and current cricketers and critics, even his opponents) is also the right one. Digging up stats is good time pass and brings up interesting things but it cannot be the measure of cricket. If cricket was just numbers, mathematicians would be coaches Shane 1
CSK Fan Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Its quite funny that he says all that he has in this thread 3 days after SRT made 30% of the entire teams runs .... only in India will you find such irrational and highly unreasonable fans. And not one word of praise for the winning knock then. In fact he quite disappeared
