sid316 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Its really amazing to see that in this era of batting dominance, aussies are keen in bring in a number of young talented genuine quickies capable of bowling over 90 mph.win or loss is another thing but its really exciting always to see someone running in hard, bowling over 90mph consistently.the new to the list may be young starc who is only 20 and still bowls with a lot of fire.
Serani Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 because of their build. Its called the gym, even Bresnan can bowl 90MPH and he is seen as a trundler, your malnourished Indian fast bowlers on the other hand....
nballa Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Its called the gym' date=' even Bresnan can bowl 90MPH and he is seen as a trundler, your malnourished Indian fast bowlers on the other hand....[/quote'] err you idiot, its their overall skeletal frame which is a lot bigger than indians. going to the gym will make you big muscled but not big framed.
punjabi_khota Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Its called the gym' date=' even Bresnan can bowl 90MPH and he is seen as a trundler, your malnourished Indian fast bowlers on the other hand....[/quote'] so you think Asif and amir are gym regulars pumping iron :hysterical:? what abt this fellow below .. not exactly someone you would call meathead..
Serani Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 so you think Asif and amir are gym regulars pumping iron :hysterical:? what abt this fellow below .. not exactly someone you would call meathead.. Asif is slow whats your point, Amir is just the most naturally talented bowler of a generation, shame he ****ed it up. Pace isnt just gym work but it goes a long way to increasing pace, as we see with most Aussie, English and Saffie bowlers they are all big units
Mamu Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Because other country bowler cheat by eating cows. Only Indians dont cheat ! :winky:
maniac Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Who cares...I don't understand the obsession with 90mph...We saw a 2nd string Indian team taking them to the cleaners,We saw pak's ranking with all their 100mph bnowlers. BTW it has nothing to do with built in 2007 I remember sreeshanth bowling the faster than most of the safferrs,We saw Ishanth bowling as fast if not more as the Aussies in 2008. Given a good pitch we saw srinath being almost unplayable at times. The point I am trying to make is that our pace goes unnoticed when we play abroad and on Indian surfaces we fine tune our bowling accordingly by trying to concentrate on line and length rather than pace----Unfortunately it doesn't work on the batting paradises we play on
Andy Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Not just that Aussies are Producing bowlers who bowls just Rubbish Throughout, yet picks up Wickets with some Wide deliveries and Lolipops, Examples are Johnson and Mckay. Its not that we cant Compete with them in that aspect We too had Sir Joginder Sharma only to be Neglected by Selectors, I say Call him Back. :winky:
Andy Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 On the Topic, we too had Bowlers who were bowling 140km up in the Past ..RP, Shreesanth, Zak, Ishant, Nehra etc all did it. But the slowed down. The new comers dont even cross 135 km per hour...Thats not good enough IMO. May be because we lack the Culture oif Bowling quick. It has not much to do with GYM..You need to "Bend Your Back" which none of our players are interested in.
Hindustani Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 There is not much difference between 135-140, but there is difference between 130 and 145. Indian pacers have very poor fitness, PK, Munaf can't run, bend and dive at the age of 23-24. Zak and Nehra always had poor fitness and thing never improved in 10 years
fineleg Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Munaf is a 80-yr old grandpa, and RP Singh has no concept of fitness. Many of our bowlers are super lazy. As per our former bowling coach, only Ishant Sharma even bothers to do the exercises and bowling regime. The rest are SLACKERS! How the hell will they then bowl 140,145...we have the 120-124 trundlers like Vinay Kumar though

vamos_rafa Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Irfan Pathan can bowl 116 km/hr :giggle: Jokes paart even Ifran used to bowl real quick when he first burst onto the scene. Infact I remember he actually hit the face of one of the Zimbabweian batsman and he had to be rushed the hospital. Just that when our bowlers come in hey are raw and fresh but after a while,in the quest of line and length, they lose it It's a pity ain't it that, after making a mark, when they are expected to polish their skills, they actually end up losing all their sheen. :((

fineleg Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Irfan was not super quick, but he was more than adequate. Its a pity that he has gone to such terrible levels now. And swing yeah! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQnvX5Smx-g]YouTube - Irfan Pathan's first Test Wicket[/ame]

Mitchell Johson, Petre Siddle and Dale Steyn touches 150 quite regularly than Bond touched in his heydays.
