If i was a Hardcore Dhoni fan like you, by now i would have asked them to STFU only for the sake of the Image of true MSD fans.[/quote'] I am not a hardcore fan of anyone...but if you are saying like that i think you do not watch cricket that closely....SRT is the greatest of all time, but how many ODIs SRT has played in the last 2-3 years in total India has played I think only 2 this year...others you can search....and any batsman cant be an ICC ODI player of the year 2 consecutive times if he has not scored runs and won matches for the team...he has been no.1 for more than a year...and If you say ICC awards and rankings are flawed than you also need to take consideration that SRT is cricketer of the year and #1 Test Batsman right now.... you talk about SG and RD both have been great players for India, no denial, but I dnt think they have won ODI player of the year award or have been no.1 in ranking.....VS has never been consistent or match winner or as successful as in test in ODIs....Yuvraj also is a match winner for India but in the last 1-2 years, his career has seen a lots of up and down and has been inconsistent....Dhoni has been very consistent through with just a few exceptions....He wont look pretty as a batsman but he is the one of most effective batsman Indian cricket has ever seen in ODIs....

Secondly ICC awards are given on the basis of performance in General ODI's they do not take in equation the Performance of a batsman in Big tournaments like ICC Champions Trophy and World Cup. Else why is his performance so poor in the top ODI tournaments of ICC?. So bringing in ICC awards and Rankings to compare greatness of RD and SG was pretty wrong. By the Time ICC awards and Rankings started they were past their PEAK. Talking about MSD being greater than YS and VS, let me tell you both the players you have mentioned have performed in Big Tournaments in the past and in Conditions all over the world. MSD is yet to that and am not convinced that with his technique he can Emulate the likes of VS and YS. MSD has performed well in Subcontinental Conditions most, he hasnt done much in other parts of the world like England and South Africa. So putting him ahead of YS and VS too early would be wrong without him making much runs in conditions which are helpful for bowlers.

Actually it is relative, he will easily be the best batsmen in mediocre teams like Pakistan/New Zealand/west Indies. with such strong line up that india has, he barely gets any chance, not to mention, he now playing anchor role in almost all the innings.

Comparing them to some 20-20 specialist or players who have been sucessful for only 1-2 years and putting them ahead of Legends is nothing more than Insult to them. I Still remembeer when IKP came to the scene and performed so well for 1-2 years how people compared him to Kapil Dev and went on singing his praises in the same tune as for kapil Dev. Players Like Ganguly and Dravid comes once in a generation. MSD needs to go a long way to prove he is beter than them.
