ViruRulez Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 PATNA: A 21-year-old student ended life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her Munnachak residence here on Monday after months of rape and assault by her spurned lover and his friends. The body of Arya, who was doing MBA under Madurai-headquartered Kamraj University's distance education programme, was found in her room at flat number 408, A-block, Laxmi Apartment in Patrakarnagar police station area. Her father is a clerk in private school and mother an employee of a private college. A neighbour told TOI Arya's father made a call to his house and talked to her around 1 pm. But when her mother called home around 2.30 pm, there was no response. Worried, she rushed back. The door was bolted from inside and Arya was not responding to calls to open it. A carpenter was called in, and he broke open the door for her mother and neighbours to find the young girl hanging from the ceiling fan. Arya left behind a handwritten suicide note in which she has sought stern punishment to her tormentors. "Copies of my suicide note should be sent to the President, Prime Minister and state chief minister. My tormentors belong to influential families and they can use their influence to save their skin," the note reads. "If you fail to do justice to my soul, at least provide protection to my father, mother and brother and do not harass them," she urged police in her suicide note. The four-page note contains vivid details of her torture allegedly by Praveen Kumar of Central Bank Colony, Pushkar of Bankmen's Colony and Harsh Ranjan and Jyoti Ranjan of east Ashok Nagar. She has also named Stuti, a resident of Laxmi Apartment, and her brother Shitanshu Vinit who allegedly kept an eye on her flat. They would inform Praveen the moment her parents left for work. The suicide note alleged that Vinit, Pushkar and Harsh raped her regularly and had even made her obscene MMS after threatening to implicate her family members in false cases if she did not cooperate for the shoot. "As late as October 20, they forced themselves on me; the marks of beating can be seen on my left hand and ear," the note alleged and urged police to get her body medically examined to confirm her allegations. An eerie silence prevailed in the Laxmi Apartment even as hordes of the family's well-wishers kept coming in. "Once I had caught the three boys red-handed. I felt like murdering them on the spot but a crying Arya intervened to save me from going to jail," Arya's wailing father was heard telling his visitors. City SP Manu Maharaj said police would investigate the allegations made by the girl. "If the allegations are found true, action would be taken against them," he said and added an FIR has been lodged. The persons named in the suicide note have been made accused in the FIR, Patrakarnagar SHO Dhirendra Pandey told TOI. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/patna/Raped-repeatedly-by-ex-Patna-girl-ends-life/articleshow/6811566.cms This is really blood boiling incident once again. She died with the suicide note and hope it does not go in vain. The suicide note explains her pain and agony. These bustards should be hanged in public if needed. It is even sadder to see her mention girls who are helping the boys in doing so. It is really pathetic and hope it becomes a media justice case. These should be cases where media should take charge instead of wasting their time in masala cases as they normally do.

kumble_rocks Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 RIP - India is still a third world country in one sense, I doubt this would have happened in Western democracies.
yoda Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 RIP - India is still a third world country in one sense' date=' I doubt this would have happened in Western democracies.[/quote'] Worse things happen in the west including a guy having kids with his own daughter and repeatedly raping her for 15 years or a couple kidnapping a 13 year old and keeping her in their backyard for sex for 20 years. And you have Mike Tyson who got out after rape conviction in just 3 years.
Ram Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Once again, It all boils down to the institutionalization of corruption and shabby law enforcement. One of the main reasons why people don’t generally take law unto their own hands in the West is because they know that if they do break the law, there’s a very good chance they’ll face justice. In India, when you can buy out the different arms of law enforcement (police, judiciary), then where’s the question of fear of persecution? But have to say, the tale of that girl is heart-wrenching. How much must she have been tortured by those guys for her to have left that elaborate a suicide note, even though she knew her life was going to end. And you know whats the worst part, it is almost as though she feels that even her death wouldn’t guarantee that the criminals will get punished, so there’s a last minute desperate plea to at least leave her family alone. Very sad indeed.

Its not about commiting the crime its about doing the time.
Roshanrocks Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Tormentors of Arya go into hiding PATNA: A day after Arya ended her life on Monday to escape alleged physical exploitation and assault by her ex-lover and his friends, police picked up her neighbour Stuti and fanned out to different destinations to nab the other culprits named by the deceased as her tormentors in her suicide note. The MBA student's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her flat in Luxmi Apartment in the city's Patrakarnagar locality. Her father, who works as a clerk in a private school, and mother, who works as an assistant at a private B-school, were not at home when the 21-year-old committed suicide. "It's a case of heinous crime. The guilty won't be spared," state DGP Neelmani told TOI. The male accused have gone into hiding, he said and blamed it on the media. "Had the suicide note details not become public, police would have by now pounced on the young girl's tormentors," the DGP said on Tuesday. Investigators said Arya had an affair with Harsh, one of the boys named in the suicide note. Things turned ugly after the girl started avoiding the boy when she came to know about his criminal antecedents. Stuti apart, police are also grilling a few other neighbours of Arya, sources said. Patna SSP Bachchu Singh Meena said police are on the job. "We are poring over the suicide note. Since the handwriting on one of the pages looks different from that on the other three pages, we are taking experts' help to know the truth," Meena said and added police are also waiting for the autopsy report. Though Meena would not give details, sources said separate police teams have been sent to possible hideouts of the culprits and raids are on. "We have been ordered not to return empty-handed," a member of one of these teams told TOI. Meanwhile, an eerie silence prevailed at the Laxmi Apartment on Tuesday. Arya's family members were away at the cremation ground while her mother lay unconscious at home when this reporter visited the apartment. While Arya's neighbours refused to talk, Stuti's mother told TOI her daughter was innocent. "Yet, police took her away in the morning," she said. Arya's suicide note named Stuti as an accomplice of her tormentors. "We have included Stuti's name as an accused in the FIR lodged in connection with the suicide of Arya," Patrakarnagar SHO Dhirendra Pandey said.
CSK Fan Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Lol at the police blaming the media. Most probably if this hadn't come in the media, such stringent search wouldn't take place at all
Texy Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 years of cultural sexual conservatism, female infanticide, lack of sexual education, moral brigade facade, hypocritical judicial sexual crime laws --- can all be blamed for the death of this young girl and many girls just like her who are about to follow suit or will follow suit in the near future never mind the other half of the pie chart percentage who will vanish in the background while keeping their mouth shut and tolerating this abuse for years
rabinjackman Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Lol at the police blaming the media. Bradman99 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 They should cut each one these ****ing scumbags balls off, put them in a blender and force them to drink it before killing each and everyone of them. Disgraceful. R.I.P
yoda Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 You have entirely missed the point. All of them went to jail' date=' in this case they will get away scott free. Its not about commiting the crime its about doing the time.[/quote'] BTW, when a crime goes on for two decades, that system is broken too, even if time is done. Don't you think? Also this crime being discussed has barely happened, where is the question of getting away without doing time? The rich and famous in the west avoid doing time by hiring better lawyers than the state. It is a different system, pretty much similar results.
