spectre Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Yuvraj was the best, but that was a long time back Raina comes close 2nd
CoverDrive Posted November 10, 2010 Author Posted November 10, 2010 Anyone remember Noel "Who is that" David who was supposed to be in the team just for his fielding
vvvslaxman Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Tie between Azharuddin and Kapil dev. Especially Kapil dev is one of the best of his own bowling. He could field pretty much anywhere and make catching look ridiculously easy.
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 yuvraj, kaif, raina, robin singh in that order. imo azhar was very good in slips. dravid comes 2nd. dhoni with stumping and runouts.
Ranjha Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 MS Dhoni period :hysterical::hysterical: MS Dhoni is not just Indias all time fielder. He is the worlds all time best fielder.
OriginalCopy Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 1. Solkar - excellent reflexes in the close-in positions. Have seen him field at forward shortleg first hand, and ofcourse many times on TV with Bedi and Venkataraghavan bowling. 2. Azharuddin - great anticipation and skills at aggressive field positions like gully, and point, and pretty good in the slips too. Other honorable mentions include Kapil Dev (very safe fielder and catcher), Yuvraj (very good before he became a blob), and Kaif (was very good while he was around). Kohli looks pretty promising too.

gult Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 From whatever I've seen, Kaif is India's best fielder.
CSK Fan Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Azhar without a doubt. no fancy diving stuff(some of UV's diving is obvious show-boating) but the man was lightning quick and have seen him take some outstanding catches. His reflexes were amazing
maniac Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I would say Aazhar but I saw him drop a sitter of Anwar in a test match which cost us dearly. He was definetely the best but probably messed up at times due to the weight of rolexes on his wrist and money in his pocket
vvvslaxman Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 From whatever I've seen' date=' Kaif is India's best fielder.[/quote'] Not a good thrower. He has made lot of good ups with poor throw. Kapil is the complete package. Fielding, catching, throwing everything was near perfect.
yoda Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Different aspects of fielding: 1. Boundary line fielding, one hand throw on the run, catching - Kapil 2. Keeping athleticism - SMK 3. Close in fielding - Kaif, Solkar (never seen him play), Yuvraj 4. Slip catching - RD 5. Overall - Azhar (ofc keeping excluded)
dial_100 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Kaif anyday. Who wants to forgive Azhu anyway.
pensionplan Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Slips - VVS by a mile. Close in (Short-leg, Silly-Point) - Solkar -The rest are pretenders by comparision - Out-Field - Kapil Dev - No one can throw as accurate like him from the out-field - Magic pair of Hands - All-Round (Out-Field, Close in, Slips - You name it) - Azza - A natural on the field -
mastana Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 MS Dhoni period :two_thumbs_up: Let me add a Lahori logic to it and then no one can beat MS Dhoni in fielding department. And here it is "As a captain he won T20 world cup for India." Thats why he is the best fielder. Note :- Lahori logics are mostly used when people fail to compare Ponting with Goddy's greatness. Terms like captaincy, winning world cups and winning momentum are normally used under these circumstances. :nervous:
maniac Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 It's surprising that no one picked Sachin...Haven't seen him drop too many catches or misfield
