Tests only at Calcutta' date=' Bombay, Madras, Bangalore and perhaps Kanpur and [b']Mohali please. All Test matches should be played only in these venues.
:listen_dawg: Seriously Finey ? We saw crows and pigeons watching the game instead of the crowd. What a cracker and sadly hardly few to appreciate.

Or why dont they just put a rocket up the bottoms of groundsman at any venue wether small or big to ensure it produces good cricket. Hydrabad venue was good, good crowds as well, just track was pathtic. Surley not that hard to change tracks and improve them. Test centres is good but would like them to go were crowds are, plenty at hydrabad so why not more games there. One of thes best venue in terms of track and stadium is mohali but crowds are a joke! Its not a bad idea to put tests all over country as attract interests and encourages india to produce players from everywere of our MASSIVE country.

To add on ,excellent excellent Test venue Hyderabad is based on what was on display with the new stadium a decent pitch that had carry and bounce on all 5 days where great bowlers are expected to take wickets at regular intervals and good batsman can score runs if they apply themselves and have the technique. Just because India was not able to make inroads on the 5th day should not be an indictment on the pitch but perhaps on its bowlers minus Zaheer since he was out and that was the key. Also the outfield in Hyderabad is perfect perhaps the best in the country. As already noted the first 4 days had a crowd averaging upwards of 22k and on Sunday it exceeded 30k. And last but not the least the rich cricketing tradition Hyderabad has right from the Nizam days and the famous 'Hyderabadi school of Cricket' stylists unique to the city right from Abbas Ali Baig to M.L.Jaisimha to Azharuddin to the present day Laxman it always supplied country with players of class and stalwarts and many a Test player. The 'maidan' cricket tradition that used to be unique all through the 70's. 80's and the 90's in Hyderabad has lost a little bit of its lustre recently but with Test cricket returning after a 22 year break that should improve hopefully and HCA is taking new initiatives on that front to restore part of that past glory. Whichever way one looks at it be it from the standpoint of a stadium, facilities, spectator interest or rich cricketing tradition Hyderabad is as good a Test center as one can have. Glad that Test cricket returned to the pearl city and it is here to stay if going by what the BCCI top brass said is any indication who by the way were there first hand to witness the proceedings on day 2.
