King Tendulkar Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Great knock, great ton with strike rate over 100. Really classy. Needed to get the fluency going and looks in prime for for saffie tour:two_thumbs_up:
Sid Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 After watching today's innings,I can safely say Gambhir is back to his best :aha:
Ram Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 He needed it, for more reasons than one. Its good to see him back to old dominating self. When Gautam scores big runs, you can pretty mucgh guarantee that it will invariably lead to a win. He's that kind of player. He takes it upon himself to make sure he's done enough to help the team win. Whether he does that by scoring a 140, or 40, is pretty immaterial to him. And that has been the most refreshing change in Indian cricket over the last few years.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 i came home and saw the whole innings. its a very good, back to his best sort of innings. liked all the shots. good to see him back among the runs
kabira Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 so refreshing to see him scoring a ton. He needed it badly.
jusarrived Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 they should give him a break now . let Thiwary take his place , we can still beat this kiwi side
maniac Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 :hail: missed a very good innings...Didn't watch it but followedit on Cricinfo...Amazing strike rate and great support from Kohli too...
Shakthi Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Well played Gautam & Kohli too contributed guys i dont think murali vijay is capable of playing odis may be is good in tests but in odis i feel he hasnt done anything to justify his place.
Sachinism Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Watched the highlights and what brilliant shots. Top class innings Will catch the 11 o'clock highlights to see it again
Sachin=GOD Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 they should give him a break now . let Thiwary take his place , we can still beat this kiwi side not a bad idea!!
Online Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Somehow GG as our skipper does not quite fit. Nothing against him but I just don't think he is captaincy material. (No logic to support this, just random thoughts.)
f.b.m Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I think if Gambhir is given captaincy for a long run, we'll see that he has an extremely short shelf life. He looks with the last 2 ODIs and the couple of DD matches I watched to be a captain who takes it upon himself to prove that somehow he is the paragon of responsibility and even spoke quite angrily about the other batsmen in a DD match if I remember correctly. The additional burden might keep him going for some time but not for very long, imo. Coming back to the topic, excellent ton. Amazingly clinical and left nothing (ok, almost nothing) to chance. Hopefully, it'll relax his state of mind and spur him onto great things in SA.
bihutoli Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 When is he going to SA? He being our opening batsmen also needs to acclimatize imo.
vamos_rafa Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Yes a real class knock. Captaincy, well as of now he does not fit the bill.
