vaibhav_delhi Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 That may be Your Opinion I dont think MSD plays any pressure only beucause of the reasons you mentioned, His Utility, He is a Leader, He is an WK and a Batsman too. Even if he Fails in One Department he can Make up in another, Hence he is hardly under as much as Pressure a Batman has to face. SRT is not Just a Batsman he is the Hope of Millions, He is Cricketing GOD To the Fans. Hence you may be the only person on this Forum who says MSD has more pressure than SRT to perform. No one really expects MSD to bail us out of trouble as much as it is expected from SRT. And talkng about Indispensability too Its debatable. No doubt MSD has changed the fortunes of the Indian Team, He is a Lucky Captain. Dhoni finishes off matches. He is a street fighter kind of a player. Sachin scored 175, but still couldnt get india across the line in the hyderabad one day, whilst dhoni's runs are more relevant in indian wins. The number of times he has made match winning contributions against the pakis (or aussies, lankans) from the limited matches he's played against them is a testament abt his pressure handling ability. Sachin is also a great player under pressure, but dhoni is better clutch batter in ODIs likewise laxman in tests.
punjabi_khota Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Hey Dhillon mate, look mate why do you have a stick up your ass mate. You see lad, this big chip on your shoulder mate, you should get it removed asap mate. You know lad, it aint no fun matey :dontknow:

Dhoni comes way down towards the end. Even then, it doesnt matter if you score a 50 and stay not out when a 100 and out is much more valuable in any position. For example, that 175 came when we were chasing 350. So the rest of the team (since you know, cricket is a team game), was required to score just 175 runs (which is 50%), which they failed to do. When Dhoni scored those 70's in pakistan, he just scored 20~25 % of the runs that India scored. Which is more valuable? Do not mistake team India's failures for Sachin's failure. Do you know what the worst part is? In that pakistan series, Sachin has a 100 and a 95 at the top of the order which set up those victories.

I know that Sachin is not a finisher. Just gave you an example, he was 175 not out and india had to get arnd 20 in 3 overs and he got out resulting in india losing the match. Dhoni almost always finishes things off in such situations. Sachin is a great player under pressure no doubt abt that, I mean he has carried 1 billion expectations for so long. But Dhoni definitely edges sachin out when playing under pressure situations.
panesarv Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 So just because guys like Dravid or Kumble are quiet' date= it means they don't give their 100%? Its time teenagers know the difference between being agressive and commited versus showboating. If a player screams after every wicket or jumps up and down, it doesnt automatically mean they are more commited than others I dislike Bhajji becasue of his arrogance. He refuses to take other's advice, refuses to admit he might have a problem with his form, is disrespective of his opponents and behaves like a super-star without achieving the status yet. Even Sehwag is brash and straighforward but he is not an arrogant **** And this is not only true of this forum, you go to any forum or any group you fill find the same number of people criticizing Bhajji When did I say that? PS. Its possible to like multiple people. If I like Bhajji, doesn't mean I have to hate Kumble/Dravid/Quiet-guys.

The Outsider Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Uh oh....Harbhajan is closing in on Rohit here. I can see another thread being started by KT soon.
maniac Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 In my opinion, in terms of overall utility for the team, in terms of changing the fortunes for the team over the last few years, in terms of playing under pressure situations in ODIs and in terms of the indispensability for the team at present, DHONI > SACHIN I never compare sachin's 21 year achievements with dhoni. have always maintained tht sachin is a miles better batsman than all his peers in the indian team both in ODIs n in Test matches By this logic Rashid Latif was a better cricketer than Akram or Inzimam because wasn't he the Keeper,Captain and middle order batsman at one point?

King Tendulkar Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Uh oh....Harbhajan is closing in on Rohit here. I can see another thread being started by KT soon. Not at all. I did a poll like yours, whats the problem:--D p.s 3 of the players I back are all at top of hate list:hysterical:. Bhaji, Sree and Rohit. You guys just want straight laced do gooders, who say yes sir , bore the pants of you and have a hair cut like prince charles. Come on guys , whats wrong with players having a bit of devil in them or being a bit wayward. Then you wonder why sport stars are so boring in media interviews and always get them giving boring answers. Bhaji has worked his socks of for India and has over 350 test wickets. Shocking he has so many votes. Sree is great, great dancer, plays with attitude love him. Rohit is ridiculously talented and is only a kid, what he has done to attract such hate is beyond me.
King Tendulkar Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 This poll is still not legitimate without Nehra in it!
King Tendulkar Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Great so most of you hate 50% of our test bowling attack to take on the saffies. Really good support you boys are giving to two players who give their all for the team and have done very well for us. Get behind the boys and stop all these stupid threads designed to slag of our test match players, I mean why exclude Jadeja??. This series is massive and is just as important as the world cup imo. All should get behind the team instead of these malicious threads.
