what do you expect from a country where school text books carry stuff like India was once part of Pakistan; let them live in their bubble believe whatever they want to; anyone with any kind of brains knows where pak cricket and pak the country are heading

In Pakistan people get taught Anti India Stuff in schools i heard they even have chapters in text books demeaning India and Indians . India refusal to Play Pak started after 1989 this was the time when pak use to send terrorists to Indian Kashmir and kill all the Hindus there. Then came Babri demolition then Mumbai blasts supported by Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan ISI this was the reason Shiv Sena didnt allow Pak to play at Mumbai. India managed to win here and there over Pak even in 1990s our record wasnt that low gud eg asia cup 1995 1996 QF. Not to forget Sharjah the place for Bookies where some players used to listen to Dawood to under perform IN the match gud eg azharuddin

Reason why we did not play and now will not play the barbarians from across the border are pretty simple Jihadis/state sponsored terrorism/suicide bombers/promise of virgins(no guarantee they will be good looking)/blowing innocent people up/support of jihadis by paki public, army,isi,govt/martydom etc etc.

In the 90's we were busy opening up our economy and laid foundations for what we are today where as Pakistan was degenrating rapidly....So not playing Pakistan is a in cricket is very minute issue

According to Ayesha Jalal, "Pakistan's history textbooks amongst the best available sources for assessing the nexus between power and bigotry in creative imaginings of a national past." She points out authors whose "expansive pan- Islamic imaginings" detect the beginnings of Pakistan in the birth of Islam on the Arabian pensinsula. A Text Book of Pakistan Studies claims that Pakistan "came to be established for the first time when the Arabs under Mohammad bin Qasim occupied Sind and Multan'; by the thirteenth century 'Pakistan had spread to include the whole of Northern India and Bengal' and then under the Khiljis, Pakistan moved further south-ward to include a greater part of Central India and the Deccan'. [...] The spirit of Pakistan asserted itself', and under Aurangzeb the 'Pakistan spirit gathered in strength'; his death 'weakened the Pakistan spirit'." Jalal points out that even an acclaimed scholar like Jamil Jalibi questions the validity of a national history that seeks to "claim Pakistan's pre-Islamic past" in an attempt to compete with India's historic antiquity. Won T20 cup not too long ago etc etc. So I think Pakistan the country and Pakistan the team are just doing fine. The quicker some guys like you wlil come out of your bubbles and hardcoded brainwashed generalizing bias against Pakistan, the better you will be able to judge other nations and their people. well, this is an old article from ToI.. i remember there existed this thread in another non cricket paki forum that i was a part of, and there people confirmed that this isn't true.

Shivani, they will obviously say this is not true on some forum.... the reality is far from the spoken truth. This long historical perspective of Pakistan is absent these Pakistan Studies textbooks. Instead, children are now taught that the history of Pakistan starts from the day the first Muslim set foot in India. You know our resident Trash - Bag who apparently is Harvard Educated -- never fails to get a hard on when TOI is mentioned, wonder what will he have to say about these sources. Oh let me guess -- these are run by the joos :cantstop: Moreover since he can write english (not that his intelligence level and debating quality is any more than a Madrassah Graduate) -- I will have to assume he is from one of the elite private schools in Paki Land -- where they more than likely do not have these Text Books. But Paki School System is more than just Private Schools They have a Public School System AND They have a Madrassah System And before anybody points to any numbers in 2002 they had close to a MILLION Graduates from Madrassahs. That was in 2002 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And here is the kicker. The Statistics Available is for Registered Madrassahs ONLY, There is no limit to the Number of UNREGISTERED MADRASSAHS, and god knows what are they taught there ! Oh, I just found out -- there were about 40,000 UNREGISTERED MADRASSAHS in 2008.

This is quite baffling, you say that forum is Paki and then you say the people confirmed it was not true, question is did you expect an honest answer from them? And even if you did as I put in my post -- most of these guys are probably from the Private Schools, but that is only a minority of the guys getting educated in Pakistan.

And Before any M-F'ing smart ass jumps on to TOI, let me make it very clear, this was out of a Research Institute Based in ISLAMABAD. This is just a part of the whole thing. Enuff Said.
