WTF has this thread got to do with Bradman? There are so many threads on him already - can you guys post there? Please discuss why Marshall never used a googly in match conditions and why was he never able to master leg spin to the extent that Tendulkar did.

That other forum is just poison. Any sane cricket fan esp. indian is only gonna get frustration staying over there. The sooner a few guys at ICF realize this, the better for them.

I think Bradman is a better bowler than both, because: 1) Bowling in the 1940s when the cricketing era was super competitive was always gonna be difficult. 2) Imagine bowling in an era where the top batsman (which is Bradman himself) averaged 99 - scaaaryy! 3) One word: Bodyline.. Dont ask me why, i dont know. Every time we discuss 1940s, people utter this one word, as if this explains everything. 4) Imagine bowling with those appalling fielders to support you. It couldnt get more challenging than that. 5) Video clips show that all batsmen of the 40s looked like nincompoops playing even the most elegant of cover drives. In no other era, bowlers made batsmen look so ugly. 6) One could argue that Bradman the bowler, never bowled to Bradman the batsman. But this is more of a myth than truth. Since the fastest bowlers of the 40s bowled at 2 miles per hour, many times Bradman bowled to himself & then quickly padded up, wore his gear & was at the other end in no time to promptly hit the ball for a boundary. And what more, historians of the 40s wrote in London times that Bradman is the greatest of the 12 cricketers they've seen. Thats good enough for me.

Ha ha. On a serious note, plz do stop creating such threads. There is a big probability of both sides being wrong on some points, but hey nobody would consider such a thing.

I can completely share the frustrations of posters like Dhondy, Salil, Lurker all of whom got sick with the general Tendulkar obsession of this forum and either left or seldom post. The constant knocking down and berating of other legendary cricketers by a vocal and lunatic section of posters in their quest to show Tendulkar to be the best at everything is sickening to read. This thread is a perfect example of these people, attacking the OP, instead of tackling the root of the problem where one of their cheerleaders is deriding a legend like Sobers to big up Tendulkar's bowling. Why would they do that? That is the time to feel chuffed. Create a false sense of reality where Tendulkar can run through sides with his bowling. What you got now, Sir Gary? these comparison between legends of the game are a regular feature in every sport (and every sporting forums) - be it Pele vs Maradona, Federer vs Nadal, Schumacher vs Senna etc and these debates usually become a bit nasty, so IMO as long as people don't try to demean the other player in order to prove their point, I have no problems with such debates.

Two points straight away. I do agree with you. Tendulkar fanboyism has gone way overboard, but some of it really is in fun. I also enjoy your threads on the issue. However:- One, practice what you preach. You personalize the discussions as much as anyone else and attacked posters personally including me. So, this "holier than thou" attitude is unwarranted and hypocritic. Have a thicker skin. You are starting a thread to poke fun at certain people. "Thode daag ke chite to aap par bhi girenge" Two, WTF is with the threatening business. If on some adhoc basis Mods. will start deleting poster's accounts, then it is no longer a site for Indian Cricket Fans, it is for Indian cricket Mods. Forgive me if I am being rude, but it is Mods job to "moderate" the discussion which has to be based on some established framework so that all members are clear where the line is. But this kind of adhoc threatening really undermines the purpose of such a wonderful platform. Bucknor is a great epitome of failed Moderator of the game. He was a wonderful umpire in the early part of his career especially 92 WC, but something made him a bit more cocky in the years to come and he started to interfere the game and talk to players way too much. We all know how it ended. Nothing personal. Just an observation.

1. I have no problems with the odd personal attacks. The OP in my post refers to Original Post and not Original Poster. The point I am making is that the Original Post is not the problem, it is what led to me making the Original Post. 2. I would appreciate if you would discuss moderation issues in private, but since you have chosen to preach in public - a) Under_Score has been banned on previous occasions for abusing other posters. b) He was recently warned for abusing some other poster c) He was warned a couple of days back for abusing me in choicest Hindi/Punjabi by some other moderator d) Stalking and abusing posters is against board policy and does ultimately result in a ban on any self respecting forum.
