England and India's first choice bowling attacks are quite similar in strength. Anderson-Zaheer, Broad-Ishant, Swann-Harbhajan are bowlers of similar ability and it just depends on the conditions and form they are playing in, as to who is better. In English conditions, England would have the advantage of their third seamer being better than the Indian third seamer and in Indian conditions India hold the advantage with their second spinner being better than the second spinner from England. The only attack which stands out of the pack is South Africa. For the simple Steyn factor - miles and miles away as the best bowler in the world.

England bowling is much better than India's anywhere in the world including in India. Swann can be very handy in Indian conditions as well. England's batting looks much better than 2008 series in India. So, even though India's batting is better its only just.

You know, back in 90's there was this great spinner whom everybody thought would conquer India. He averaged 50 in India. Then in the 2000's,the greatest spinner in the world was supposed to help his team win their first test in India. He retired without ever having done that. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. You can go on about how hypothetically England would beat India anywhere but in reality it is India that has beaten England home and away. The onus is on England to prove otherwise.

Cannot disagree with anything you say. I never said England would beat India or whatever but just commenting on the current strength of the sides. My point is England is a better balanced and stronger team at the moment. They have more variety in bowling and a reliable batting compared to India.
