Yoda-esque Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Whatever, but that's my point.. They are ridiculating even a top celebrity, imagine the difficulties faced by a common man :giggle: So, admit that there is language issues in Pune/Mumbai. :agree: How many celebrities in TN do not know Tamil ? And did you ever get ridiculed???
PriyankaSR Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Oh Come on, are you saying people from south have no language issues in Mumbai/Pune? Plus Mumbai and Pune are not immigrant friendly either, at least not for the blue collar immigrants. That's not the case for southies only. Northies also face that problem.
Detonator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 How many celebrities in TN do not know Tamil ? Almost every northie actresses acting in Tamizh movies donno Tamizh. They even give interviews in english :giggle: Only Mallu actresses know Tamizh. And did you ever get ridiculed??? Yes.. see post# 1610, it's just one incident..
Detonator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 That's not the case for southies only. Northies also face that problem. It's actually worser for northies than southies.. they even get attacked frequently..

Yes.. see post# 1610, it's just one incident.. I see ..and most of them have stayed in TN for 20-30 years too ? LOL- Thats not ridiculing.Everybody faces that issue.Aand don't make your judgement based on one incident.
Yoda-esque Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 It's actually worser for northies than southies.. they even get attacked frequently.. Not defending that. But these incidents are stray and few and far between.
Square Drive Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The topic of discussion here is South and North India. This does not mean India does not recognize West and East. Some Lahori logic there. People here are just comparing two regions of India' date=' where does the question of India recognizing any region comes here??[/quote'] Look when u have a discussion just comparing two regions and it's running for pages in a populated website like ICF, that was a natural question from an outsider. And even ur been from Bangalore (according to someone is the most immigrant friendly city in India), the way you answered my question maybe a good indication about whole India. Thank u.
Yoda-esque Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 That's not the case for southies only. Northies also face that problem. Are you saying you'd prefer to live in Chennai to living in Pune/Mumbai ?
Detonator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I see ..and most of them have stayed in TN for 20-30 years too ? Very few, like Kushboo has stayed. Most will leave as soon as they lose market. LOL- Thats not ridiculing.Everybody faces that issue.Aand don't make your judgement based on one incident. I meant, that's one incident i mentioned for e.g., A few more happned. But I love to stay in Pune again :icflove: Not defending that. But these incidents are stray and few and far between. But it never happens in south :dontknow:
Yoda-esque Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Very few, like Kushboo has stayed. Most will leave as soon as they lose market. And I have had many incidents in TN even when I spoke in broken Tamil..Your point ? All these things dont happen in TN because people are fiercely protective of their culture.
Detonator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Kushboo speaks Tamil doesnt she? And I have had many incidents in TN even when I spoke in broken Tamil..Your point ? All these things dont happen in TN because people are fiercely protective of their culture. Yeah, she speaks. Horrible to hear :giggle: You might faced it, but not as hostilite as in Mumbai/Pune. Someone broke my frnd's car's headlight, seeing it's TN registered near MG road in Pune. Same happened to UP and DL reg vehicles. Still it's happening. We called the traffic police who was passing by (we had NOC for driving the vehicle in Maharastra as well), he will simply said "this no daamil naadu, this is poone, go drive there".
Yoda-esque Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Yeah, she speaks. Horrible to hear :giggle: You might faced it, but not as hostilite as in Mumbai/Pune. You yourself are ridiculing a person who is trying to speak your language.:giggle: You are speculating now. There would be a civil war in TN if people from other states did what they do in MH (which BTW is perfectly normal).
Detonator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 You yourself are ridiculing a person who is trying to speak your language.:giggle: English is not my language. He is actually ridiculating us badly, and indireclty saying to get out of the state. You are speculating now. There would be a civil war in TN if people from other states did what they do in MH (which BTW is perfectly normal). See, when you claim something, I can't say, "no you are bluffing". Civil war? :giggle:
PriyankaSR Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Are you saying you'd prefer to live in Chennai to living in Pune/Mumbai ? Not saying that. MUMBAI is a partially Hindi speaking area so of course I'd prefer Mumbai. I was born there after all.
Debutant Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Look when u have a discussion just comparing two regions and it's running for pages in a populated website like ICF, that was a natural question from an outsider. And even ur been from Bangalore (according to someone is the most immigrant friendly city in India), the way you answered my question maybe a good indication about whole India. Thank u. Offcourse it is. I am from Odisha, which is situated in the eastern part of India but have been staying in Bangalore(South India) for last 2 and half years without any problem and in fact loving it.

Could it be just you...I have lived in many different parts of the country and got by speaking in english, and hindi with a handful of local words.Never really had any problem worth remembering.
