Gary Kirsten has (most likely) concluded his Test coaching for India. A job very well done, and a good dignified end to the (Indian) Test coaching. A series win would have been ecstatic, but its ok. 4 out of 5 for Gary Kirsten's tenure :clap:

4/5, his greatest asset is that he knows how to handle indian players egos. that is why they all love him. india would never flourish under discipline coach like chappel or even andy flower as they are very strict and our players just want to be free and eat samosas and paratas! So kirsten gets the best out of our players, w/o irritating them.

I would give him 4/5. He did a fantastic job as a test coach. I like him for keeping a low profile, and not whining in the media, that’s a contrasting temperament to his predecessor Chappell.

I gave a 5/5 as i feel he is the best India Has ever got and nobody has got better results then him , he has actually delivered better than expected. i wanted a 1-1 series against Africa but he gave us even more we got a 1-1 draw and India was the better side in the last test so it shows he delivered better than expected specially after a loss.

really want him to stay,just not coz of the results,but beause all the players seem to love n respect him immensely. if he was to go,I hope we get a similar one n not Greg Chappell like.we cant afford tthat

3 out 5 he has not done anything exceptional in bowling front , also he has done zero on big tournaments and overseas batting remains still a suspect. We can safely say if Tendulkar's renaissance is his highest achievement then he has done nothing. Chappell had almost the same team with exception of Tendulkar who was not in the same form.If this Tendulkar was there when Chappell was there results would have been lot different. He still is the glue of Indian batting especially overseas and in testing conditions. Dravid has been no show since 2006. Laxman will have his one match to shine which he has always did since 2001 so nothing has changed on that front. Gambhir has emerged if you want Gary to have the credit for Gambhir so be it. Bowling front is where Gary's tenure has suffered a lot he brought in his guy to coach but still zero success.That is most important aspect for any team's success and Gary and his coaches have shown nothing different, in fact all of the bowlers have regressed. Tactically is where Gary has failed the most, this is where the coach should have maximum impact and Gary's impact has been non existent. In fact we can even say tactically Dhoni has regressed under him.

^ Well, for getting unanimous trust and support from the senior most to junior most team members, he gets more than 3. I think only John Wright came close.

^ thats why he got 3 for me, he gained the trust of players other than that I don't think he has done much on technical and tactical aspects.
