Sidhoni Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 have u all forgotten what he did for us in the t20 wc 2007, or to kxip in the decisive match for that matter. He is a class act.
fineleg Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Which form of cricket you are talking abt? He is still indias most indispensable player in ODIs' date=' plays according to the situation and best finisher ofcourse.[/quote'] I am talking about the form of cricket that the title of this thread is talking about.
vaibhav_delhi Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I am talking about the form of cricket that the title of this thread is talking about. Are you suggesting tht he cant at all hit the long ball even if he gets a few deliveries to settle down?
spectre Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Point is not that he can't, but he doesn't Are you suggesting tht he cant at all hit the long ball even if he gets a few deliveries to settle down?
vaibhav_delhi Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Point is not that he can't' date=' but he doesn't[/quote'] Nopes, he almost always hits with a grt strike rate even in the t20s if he gets a few deliveries to settle down. Hence he is not a tuk tuk player in t20s.
fineleg Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ^ In T20s, his S/R (+avg) combo is not good enough.
vaibhav_delhi Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ^ In T20s' date=' his S/R (+avg) combo is not good enough.[/quote'] Take into consideration the ipl performances also
Sachinism Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 At times he just looks like he's trying too hard to smash the ball and totally mis-timing it
achilles Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Dhoni & Cheeka hate Uthappa. Not the level of professionality you may expect but well, what can be done. Even if Uthappa scores a zillion runs in the domestic circuit, he will not be the first preference.

Uthappa should stick to doing drills on the sidelines with a heavy ball in IPL.

He still can't play the short ball but is still a part of the Indian set-up. So why can't Robin be given a chance? Just because he was an arrogant lad before IPL 2?

achilles Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 and who would you drop to get Uthappa in the team?? I'm not the selector, unfortunately. Else Raina wouldn't have been on the test team of SA.

Raina came back to Team India after doing well in domestic cricket. Uthappa hasn't scored much since his comeback after injury(in CL and in Ranji matches) and has gained a lot of weight (is suffering from a hormonal problem I believe).
Sid Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Enough is enough. You cant come in every t20 match and start consolidating. This is what Dhoni does in T2Os.He should either bat at 3 or fecking retire from intl. T20s
mysterio86 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 This ******* should not play cricket of any form
Karan114 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 This ******* should not play cricket of any form "Frankly speaking, if the BCCI has a better player than me available then of course they can replace me"
Pagalpanti Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 He takes a lot of time to settle in before hitting big ones, works well in ODI's but just breaks the teams momentum in t20's.
