Yes it is only an odi series. Buts its on SA pitches against some real pace. I feel we will see out of the young pretenders who may well be suited more for the test team, particularly in terms of technique. It will give us a great idea who could be a test batter of the future facing morkel/steyn and co. So lets see out of Raina, Sharma, Vijay and Kohli who will handle conditions the best and show they are the one for tests and the tour of england!

Forget odis. World cup will take care of itself. Fascinated to see who puts his hand up in this odi series to say hey I have good technique and can handle SA pitches and speedsters! This is the battle for future test match spots which will be coming up!

if rohit doesnt do well then he wont make the world cup squad' date='yusuf has an inside track because of his perceived hitting abililty.[/quote'] Rohit's problem is inconsistency more than inability. He just doesn't turn up on some days.

One shouldn't wait for this series to get over to say that Virat Kohli is the best youngster in India . Infact rite up there with one of the best players in the world rite now. He hasn't made much runs rite now as I type but with average of 46 and scoring cenuries and fifties after fifties while chasing, he has proved that he is the best

I have my hopes on Kohli to come good. To me he and Pujara are the ones who seem to have proper temperament to succeed in long run. Don't have much hope on Rohit or Raina.

There is a cut off limit for our hopes. Rohit crossed the limit. Talent smacalent, technique.. whatever.. at the end of the day how many runs you make is what counts. Kohli is the only who looks the part. Rest of them are either inconsistent or incapable.

^Raina has also played pretty well in the last 2 years so its quite unfair to say he's inconsistent or incapable. He has problems with the short ball but he will improve and IMO, he along with Kohli, are the ones for the future.

He is already an established ODI player. Talking about other youngsters.
