zen Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Since Eng only squeaked through against Netherlands and tied with India there NRR is quite low. On the other hand India has match against Netherland to boost its NRR further. If Ind beats SA Ind will end up B1 as I don't see Eng catching with India's NRR. I see your point that Ind has a better chance but theoretically there are different possibilities.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I see your point that Ind has a better chance but theoretically there are different possibilities. Theoretically everything's possible but Eng's poor NRR against Netherlands will bite them. Even Windies beat Netherlands by 200+ runs and I don't see any other result except India thrashing both Ireland and Netherlands. Plus India beat B'desh in B'desh by 90 odd which is a pretty good margin and Eng will struggle a bit against B'desh spinners to put up a huge total.
kabira Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Gentle Reminder We are still unbeaten in this tournament and will be unbeaten atleast until next Saturday. Australia got lucky other day, so only Pakistan, India and Australia yet to be beaten.
zen Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 Remaining unbeaten in group stages also depends upon whom you have played so far: Ind: Played Eng (tied), BD and Ireland, strongest of associates Aus: Played Zim and NZ. vs SL game was abandoned Pak: Played SL, Kenya and Canada If you are comparing the 3 unbeaten sides so far then it's Ind that has answered stronger challenges, Aus has been in the middle, while Pak really had one game against SL considering how poor Kenya and Canada have been Anyways, likely QF line up :P 1. Ind vs Zim 2. SA vs NZ 3. Eng vs Aus 4. WI vs SL
Ultimate_Game Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 We are still unbeaten in this tournament and will be unbeaten atleast until next Saturday. Australia got lucky other day, so only Pakistan, India and Australia yet to be beaten. I would rather we win the cup than remaining unbeaten in the group stages like SA teams of old :winky:
b555 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Anyways, likely QF line up :P 1. Ind vs Zim 2. SA vs NZ 3. Eng vs Aus 4. WI vs SL ah! doesn't that sound so good!
Ultimate_Game Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I hope we top our group and get to play kiwis in the firs quarter final
Clarke Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Anyways, likely QF line up :P 1. Ind vs Zim 2. SA vs NZ 3. Eng vs Aus 4. WI vs SL Pak gonna forfeit to avoid playing in India :hmmmm2:
DomainK Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I would rather we win the cup than remaining unbeaten in the group stages like SA teams of old :winky: You talk as if those are two alternatives. You know, we can win the world cup by remaining unbeaten throughout. Just saying.
zen Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 Pak gonna forfeit to avoid playing in India :hmmmm2: Considered a possible scenario where Aus, NZ and Zim beat Pak :P
zen Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 ^will depend on the toss' date=' all 3.[/quote'] I guess, Pak got the rub of the green on 3 occasions w/ the toss so who knows the tide could turn w/ 3 toss loses :santaclaus:
pakexpress Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 nice going guys... afterall you have beat the mighty ireland and you are all confident..lol
kabira Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 ^yes we got inspired by your performance against giants canadian team who got raped by minnows SL and favorites Zimbabwe.
Switchblade Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 ^yes we got inspired by your performance against giants canadian team who got raped by minnows SL and favorites Zimbabwe. :hysterical::hysterical:
pinkfreud Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 nice going guys... afterall you have beat the mighty ireland and you are all confident..lol People would do well to keep their traps shut considering Pak still has to play Australia and Zimbabwe. Not to mention that Pak won against SL by a very narrow margin in a match where Lasith Malinga wasn't even playing. To add to it all, Pak was bowled out for a paltry total by Canada. Sure they bounced back through Afridi's bowling, but whatever happened to the oh-so-formidable Misbah Ul Haq then? Isn't he supposed to be 'The Wall' of the Pak team or something....
Lord Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Considered a possible scenario where Aus' date=' NZ and Zim beat Pak :P[/quote'] still Pak will get in coz of NRR I think
