He loves those pitches. I tell you him coming in at 7 or 6 with 8 overs to go in power plays is destructive. We would miss his cows in to row xx. Such a dangerous player in last 10 overs. Has to play no matter how awful he was in this odi series No brainer. They guys is gonna be mammoth in WC

He can hit the ball in unusual areas. A game changer definitely. Fearless. Never collapses under pressure. If at all he fails it will be due to technical issue not because of pressure. But Kohli is undroppable so is Gauti. Yuvraj with his bowling options will not be dropped as well. I think we just have to adopt horse for the course policy

Tendulkar has hardly played, Sehwag and Gambhir have also been in and out which has meant Yuvraj has had to come in sooner in the innings. Ideally, you don't want Yuvraj to come in before the 20-25th over of the innings because a) he is not the best of starters against the new ball and b) he likes a spread out field to ease into his innings. With 3 out of our top 4 being solid batsmen, Yuvraj will likely come in around the 30-35th over or so in most matches. He is an absolute dynamite in those situations - older ball, slower pitch, solid platform. I can very easily see Yuvraj hitting form early in the tournament. Raina is a great asset in his own way, but Kohli's form and consistency at the top and Yuvraj's ability to consistently deliver 8-10 overs makes the decision easy. And I am glad Dhoni sees the logic behind dropping Raina.

I got news for you. Really does not matter who rocks or who rots. For god's sake it is the WC. As long as a player fits the bill that helps the team win should play. No two ways about it. So it is not one over the other as one sees it of course outside of the chaploos fanbases of the individual players we have. I guess the bowling aspect is what clinched it in Yuvraj's favor in this case which makes sense.

Do you mean to say that Yuvi delivers only if we get good starts ? When the platform is set for him ? If that is the case, it is not a sign of a good international player. Not undermining Yuvi's ability to tear apart the best bowling attack, the fact stays that he is vulnerable against the new ball, and he is vulnerable against spin, early in his innings. So does that mean, we mustn't expose him against the new ball, or when a spinner is going through a good spell ? Not at all. Yuvi is best when he gets many overs to play. In India, the ball may not swing for more than 8-10 overs and if we lose 2 wickets in that span, Yuvi is capable enough to handle the initial phase. The more time he spends in the middle, the better for him and when the spinners come on (may be after 15-20 overs), he will have got a sighter by then and will look a lot more settled, then. So for me, if Yuvi plays, he must bat at no.4 Talking about Yuvi's downfall, to me, the main reason for Yuvi's downfall has been his poor shot selection and his attitude towards his game. He feels very satisfied after getting to a 50 or after getting his team to a decent position, instead, the Yuvraj of old, looked even more determined for a hundred and wanted to get more runs under his belt for his team, to take them from a good position to a position from where they can only win. But now, since he is struggling for runs, he feels he has done his job with a 50 and loses his concentration, or plays a rash unnecessary stroke. So the hunger to score more has been lacking, and that has taken his consistency aback. Coming to Raina, he is a genuine match winner, he has the unique ability to get the boundaries, and since the World Cup is in India, there wont be much bounce in the track to trouble him, and even if there is some bounce, the slowness of the pitch will allow Raina to transfer his wait until the balls gets up and he can pull the ball comfortably, provided he read the line well. So his presence at no.6 or 7 along with Yusuf is a big plus in the batting powerplay and also in case where we need 7-8 an over.So I see no reason why Raina should be dropped, after making a good thunderous half century. Now you would be asking me who to drop ? Either Yusuf or Kohli ? My answer is neither of them :P. We can go for either 2 seamers + 1 spinner combination or 3 fast bowlers. But I would prefer 2+1 combination with Bhajji or Chawla as our genuine spinner and the trio of Yuvi, Yusuf and Raina sharing 20-25 overs in between them. This looks a far more balanced side with lot of options both with the bat as well as with the ball. You got no news for me idiot..just going on with your gibberish and then admitting in the end that bowling clinched it for Yuvi. Thats what I have been saying that Yuvi is an allrounder and you can't compare him with the batsman Raina and Yuvi is a must for the right combination in the team. At best, he can be replaced by a bowler and not batsman Raina who must sit out no matter what. I got news straight from the captain's mouth and it carries more weightage than anything you write here..How's that for a news?

Though Raina is a good player and a phenomenal power hitter down the order but Yuvi for his allround and experience, Yuppo for his more lethal power and Kohli for being in great form were better choice at this point of time.
