Can anyone provide that article where actual seeding of teams has been done, accordong to which they'll clash with in the knock out matches irrespective of their position in the point table?

The teams will face each other according to their actual group standings in the tournament i.e A1 vs B4 , A2 vs B3 ,etc. Only the venues for the knockout matches (QF/SF) are based on their seeding before the tournament where India > SL > Bangladesh. http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cricket_worldcup2011/content/story/488670.html

England is in group B and if both the teams clash at the knock out stage, one team will certainly get out of the tournament. Thats how you get 'screwed', no?

In a grand slam, though a single player sport, you have 128 players and the comparable players are hardly 4-6. These tourneys are kept this way so that people get outside chances.
criczero Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 In soccer, 32 teams that enter the world cup reach there after extremely hard work and competition (amongst almost 150 teams). So its not true that only 8-10 of them are useful. In cricket, 10 teams have always a straight pass and the remaining are usually rubbish.
