I've had it for more than a year and no noise, no dust, no overheating and so on. I'd recommend a 17 over a 15 inch for movies, youtubing, doing a bit of office and p0rn but depends on whether you think its worth the price.

I have to say I am very disappointed with its battery life. Otherwise its not bad at all. I can't really compare my 5 years old dell laptop with the latest model of Sony Vaio though.

Ram Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I would just pick the one with the biggest RAM capacity and the best battery life. For everyday users like us, everything else is pretty irrelevant.

Best quality screen you could afford 2. OS: 3 GB RAM if Win 32, 4 GB RAM if Win 64 3. A decently size HDD say 250 GB 4. DVD RW drive, WIFi and other standard features From the list that you gave, I would pick the Dell XPS. I would also look at brands like lenovo, ASUS, .... to name a few others
