Manny_Pacquiao Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 they are getting better with time, and altho they dont play much cricket at top level some of these teams have a bit of quality and can definitely upset one of the big teams on their day. unfortunately the format is designed to keep all the big teams in the tournament so we wont see any making it to the QFs the world cup has a history of upset wins caused by non-test playing teams: 1975: sri lanka beat india 1983: zimbabwe beat australia 1996: kenya beat west indies 1999: banghaldesh beat pakistan 2003: kenya beat sri lanka 2007: ireland beat pakistan which team is gonna cause an upset ? i pick canada to beat pakistan/new zealand
cowboysfan Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I think we will have multiple upsets in this tournament but it might not mean much because of the tournament format.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 I think we will have multiple upsets in this tournament but it might not mean much because of the tournament format. which ones do u expect to see?
bangladesh_fan Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 zimbabwe may upset one big team, i think they can beat new zealand.
gaurav92 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Zimbabwe are strong competitors, but if they beat someone like a NZ, I wont be surprised that much.To me Irish Men look hot favorites to create an upset.
Zap_Brannigan Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Are there any minnows playing in BD other than the games against BD? I feel that the slow and low pitches in BD could help minnows against teams like WI, England and NZ. In SL too, some advantage could be had by winning the toss but i doubt any minnow can actually harness the advantage.
Zelig Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Utseya, Price, Cremer - some big guns will be caught napping. Watch the ride! Slowly but surely Zimboks are getting there. Sean Ervine at the top of the order would of been nice. Well, F him and Hampshire.
b555 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 andy blignaut also not der :(( he was back for one short spell
Sir john Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 andy blignaut also not der :(( he was back for one short spell he ask for money(overdue) form zim cricket board.zc did't make his payments,so get retired once again
FairCricket Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 irland can be quite dangerous at times , but i dont think they r used to sub wickets . so my pics are Kenya and Zim
Hell Raiser Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Ireland can beat England...... England players are too tired and their main batsman and finisher morgan is out of the world cup.
Zelig Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 ^ sean ervine is not in team I know..I said that it would have been nice to see him in the team. Btw, Jonty is the fielding coach of Kenya :giggle:
Ram Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Whoever gets to play against NZ and Windies, have a reasonable chance of pulling one out of the hat.
Sachinism Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Zimbabwe are confident of beating a test nation :yay: They got some good spinners and some decent hitters, could happen - kinda like Bangla
hari504504 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Kenya.. stride into the semis one more time please.. :hitler:
Sir john Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I know..I said that it would have been nice to see him in the team. Btw, Jonty is the fielding coach of Kenya :giggle: i know. :bubblegum: Kenya.. stride into the semis one more time please.. :hitler: :yes::yes::yes::yes:
