NareshK Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Its not just the pressure. Indian coaches will always be blamed for being partisan towards players from their region, whether they are actually biased or not. If they are not, they get blamed for not supporting them enough. You cant win either way.
DomainK Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 The tone of his voice might be boring, in which case, you should listen to Sidhu the loud mouth, but he talks sense and makes some very interesting points.
Rajiv Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Not Impressed, very simple and diplomatic but they all need time
Shane Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 He has a very subdued tone for a commentator (ball by ball), a bit like kumble, but he is good in the studios.
Andy Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 bit of a yawn if you ask me . This post is a Joke considering the Opinion of others on this thread on his Analysis.
Andy Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 TBH his voice is too Meek, His should stick to Cricket analysis only IMO.
Sachin=GOD Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Speaks too much and sounds like a radio commentator instead of a tv commentator. He has to realise that on TV, a commentator does not have to describe every single ball.
Mariyam Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 There is another factor, aesthetic as it may be, but it works against Ganguly. He dresses pretty shabbily when he hosts shows. Sidhu, Bhogle and that fat English ( or Australian guy) are well groomed and Ganguly shows up dressed in a casual shirt and a blazer. The worst part is that he keeps the first few buttons of his shirt open exposing his upper chest hair. Thats just plain disgusting. And yucky. No Ganguly, you are not Hrithik Roshan. No one wants to see your body. Please wear a tie or at least button up your shirt. :dash1::bhejafry:

Please be on topic. The topic is Ganguly's presentation skills. And appearance is an important part of presentation. You disagree? And why do you capitalize random letters???
Andy Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Please be on topic. The topic is Ganguly's presentation skills. And appearance is an important part of presentation. You disagree? I think his Presentation is absolutely fine, the points you mentioned holds No Good. I can bring in Pictures if needed, and also Videos. May be we were watching some other Ganguly:winky: But i do agree with the above posters who disliked Ganguly the commentator, For me he should stick to Analysing and Presentation only. And why do you capitalize random letters??? Thats the way i have been posting over the Years, May be you are new to the forum.:nervous:
bihutoli Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 He seemed ok in the studio. But that may be because of the company he keeps (read Siddhu). Posters commenting on the tone of his voice are right on the money, he needs to be much more lively commenting on live matches.

I would listen to Ganguly in a t-shirt then Sidhu in a tie.
riwi999 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I must admit I am not overly impressed by Ganguly so far. Having said that, maybe he needs some time to get used to this role. After all, he is not experienced in this field so I am happy to cut him slack. Comparing anybody with Sidhu will make that person look outstanding. Sidhu is about as low as it gets in content nowadays IMO. His image has taken over the person and now he is caught up in the image of HAVING to come up with those wisecracks, HAVING to display those mannerisms. Even if he does makes sense at times, the initial reaction towards him is already a put-off, so nothing gets through. Back to Ganguly. I am not going ga-ga about him but I'm not going to rubbish him either. Let's just say I am neutral right now.
Utalk Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Ganguly has always been a class act.I had huge respect for him as a player and captain.Changed face of indian cricket with his attacking style.Only captain to get under the skin of the Aus. Have not heard him this world cup yet but he speaks well coupled with balanced personality I am sure he will be awesome in the box.
Andy Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Ganguly as a Cricket analyst is very good IMHO, but as a Commentator, i am not Impressed. Having said that I'd love to hear his cricketing views in any role.
