Mariyam Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 (Most) girls do seem to take a cursory interest in sports and use it as a conversation filler and to make small talk, but when the conversation shifts to actual analysis of the game (even without banter), they seem to lose interest. And what is this 'actual analysis' that you speak of? :dontknow: More than Test Matches, I think its all this analysis, analysts and experts spewing off statistics at the drop of a hat that makes a new comer turn away form the game. Who cares about who is ranked #1? Who cares if Yuvraj's average in games between the tropic of cancer and the equator in the month of May is more than Gambhirs? Sports is all about magical moments. When you use statistics to 'analyse' sports, you are killing the magic behind the sport. Give me a Sidhu over a Bhogle any day of the week. :P

But I tend to agree with Mariyam on some parts, I don't like all the banters and arguments sometimes, it just sounds blatant stupid and sometimes even when I argue with friends or some dummy here, I say it to myself "why am i even typing this or bother replying." When you express your honest opinions sometimes others who are patriotic get offended and calls you a traitor. My female friends who likes cricket they mostly talk about which cricket player is dating who and who's better looking, who's more stylish, who they would date. Not about stats or what did he sledge.
