Virender Sehwag, Nehra sweat it out in training session Thursday, Mar 3, 2011, 15:21 IST Place: Bangalore | Agency: PTI Emphasis was on fielding as the entire Indian World Cup squad sweated it out in a three-hour practice session ahead of their Group B encounter against Ireland, in Bangalore on Sunday. Opener Virender Sehwag and pacer Ashish Nehra, both of whom were nursing injuries went through the paces and looked comfortable. Sehwag had skipped yesterday's session after flying to Delhi for an appointment with physiotherapist for a ribcage injury that he picked up during an earlier training session. Nehra, who missed both matches Bangladesh and England due to back spasms, is expected to be available for selection for the game against Ireland. The session started with a discussion between coach Gary Kirsten and the players followed by a throwing exercise to improve concentration and accuracy. Players were asked to throw balls into three buckets kept at a distance to improve their focus and accuracy on the field. Fielding has been one of India's major problem area with dropped catches and missed run outs being a regular feature in the team's matches. The training also included the regular net session.

Good to hear:two_thumbs_up: Maybe there's hope for this team after all !
desi pride 1234 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 can ireland repeat their heroics against india? 2007 world cup ireland's victims: west indies, pakistan. 2011 world cup ireland's victims so far: engalnd. can they do it against india? if they can chase 300 plus total against england, then y cant they repeat it against india? do we have a better attack?. this obrein guy is a liitle bit of concern i would say. lol. fastest 100 in world cup, WOW. was he lucky against england? i dont wanna write off their chances.
ganeshran Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Darao mat yaar India shouldnt take the Irish lightly.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 no chance. india will take ireland seriously, so the upset is no longer is possible. all the big upsets occur when nobody expected them to, when one big team treats the smaller team as just another easy game. india wont be doing that now, so expect a fully professional performance i also cant see irish batters having much joy against harbhajan and chawla/ashwin. they struggled to play swann.

Also we need a turning pitch not a run mine like the two matches in Bangalore so far.
Zero_Unit Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Should we be worried? YES! If our batting fails in some bizzar way and If O'brien brothers decides to do another camio like that then its a shame for us to be honest and lets be honest who the hell in the world is actualy worried about INDIA's bowling at the moment in the tournament? The only thing we strike fear to the opponents heart is with our batting.
Switchblade Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 we should chase its better chasing because we won chasing against kiwis then pom,s made 338 and irish chased down 328 so we are better of chasing
NareshK Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 My guess is if there is no more rain in Bangalore, the pitch will get drier and take a lot more spin in a few days. And if it does turn I suspect Chawla and Bhajji will be too hot to handle for the Irish as they ran through the Aussies in the warm up match at the same ground.
daryl1985 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 If we lose this match then we have absolutely no hope of winning the tournament. India should win this match by a big margin. Ireland are one of the best smaller teams but if they win or come close to winning this game it will say more about India than it will about Ireland.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 India are going to demolish Ireland just like SA demolished the Dutch today.
Zelig Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 are u sure it is blood? :finger: yes :beee: My great granny is an Irish btw :icflove:
Switchblade Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 if we beat dutch and irish team then do we qualify for q.f or we also have to beat saf or windies?
vimalkamadia Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 INDIA VS IRELAND- Pre match discussion Can our bowlers come back? Or, will we meet the same fate as the English against the Irish... Cant wait until sunday.....Hope we get to bat first...at least we can put up some total...
Watson87 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 dude there is a new zealand vs zimbabwe match first lol
yoda Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I can see our bowling getting pwned by this Irish team. We better score > 400 if we are batting first. That K OB is one mean hitter.
punjabi_khota Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 yes :beee: My great granny is an Irish btw :icflove: :WTF: Your granny was probably bragging and said she is sort of an "Iyer"=> "Iyer-ish"
