Praveen M Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 not really.ashwin is good than chawla because he bowls at power plays and gives less than 4.50 runs per over and gives the team early break thrgh.he even bowls carrom ball more efficently.....:giggle:
Praveen M Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 defintely ashwin is mystrey man and allrounder too ....B->
youngindia Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 a leg spinner is generally regarded more penetrative than offspinner. a off spinner would be option #2. not #1 as for ashwin, being an "allrounder", he won't do much better than agarkar.he can bat a bit..that's it.

But a leg spinner who sprays the ball everywhere is useless. Chawla can turn, but he is just not good enough to get a consistent line and length, something that is of utmost importance in cricket.

Chawla is not one at this point. He is half track bowler.

You are saying Chawla can turn the ball, but cannot bowl consistent line and length. Wonder why negative opininon of Bhaji as he does the latter And if a spinner does not turn, then why have him. Being a captain or leader is about arrogance, you have to defend your decisions if you want to stamp your authority or else you will have tons of opinions from external souces(fans) who basically know nothing about the team(training, pitch, strategy)\\
CG Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I Think most of us know in our hearts we will not win the cup with dhoni as captain,Selections can be argued but policies and ethics of captaincy is what i watch and the day he blasted his team mate in front of media in southafrica i lost respect for him.
CG Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 what are we talking about isn't Chawla a offspinner ,aswhin carrom ball turns more than chawklas so called legspin.:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

CG Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Talk for yourself dude! do not worry you will be with me soon.
pinkfreud Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I prefer Chawla over Ashwin if can regain some confidence & thats exactly what msd istrying to do .. Playing 3 offspinners in Harbajan ' date=' Ashwin and Pathan isnt ideal .[/quote'] How long does he need to regain confidence? 1000 years? or 50,000 years? He's been given too many chances. In today's match too, even though Chawla took 2 wickets, he went for almost 6 per over. If that's your ER against the Dutch, what the fu*k are you going to do in the KO stages? Regain confidence my foot...
Zap_Brannigan Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Dhoni has made a lot of horrible decisions throughout his career as captain but sometimes they do work out or sometimes others carry the passengers to win. Dhoni won IPL and CL after making some piss poor decisions at the start of the tournament. We won the T20 WC with Joginder sharma. But we also lost against Aus when Sachin made 175 thanks to jadeja. Basically, it could go either way but Chawla being in the team will only be a detriment to the side and others have to carry him.

Watson87 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 overreaction! :headshake: I like the way you think. At least someone in this forum is a good thinker :winky:
vvvslaxman Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Ashwin brigade needs to calm dowm. Ojha shouldve been picked ahead of chawla based on performances...but chawla got good match practises now and looking to get in good form so we must persist with him. Navjoth Singh sidhu is the head of Ashwin brigade :winky: Not just him pretty much all experts are of the same opinion.
Clarke Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Chawla, you better run through the SA middle order or else you & Dhoni shall be together in a poster designed by tdigi.
HowardRoark Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Navjoth Singh sidhu is the head of Ashwin brigade :winky: Not just him pretty much all experts are of the same opinion. Don't argue with him. He will not support Ashwin's inclusion unless Ashwin changes his last name as soon as possible to Singh or at least Kaur :winky:
ghost Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Chawla' date=' you better run through the SA middle order or else you & Dhoni shall be together in a poster designed by[b'] tdigi. What's that ?
Ranjha Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Navjoth Singh sidhu is the head of Ashwin brigade :winky: Not just him pretty much all experts are of the same opinion. Sidhu is better suited for his sidhusim than his expert comments on Ashwin vs Chawla imho. Why would you play three similar kindaa offies and not have a variation with a genuine leggie? Chawla did a decent job today and I am thinking he will do good against windies and saffers.
