If Piyush performs well, then it does not matter if Ashwin plays or not. The objective is to win the cup and that's what matters regardless of which 11 gets it. Let's hope Dhoni's instincts and calculation is right.

And we can add stupid as well. I give up on this Craptain Cool Here after, I shall refer to MSD as Craptain Cool Irrespective of how Chawla does today, this is a CRAPPY team selection! pathetic and disgraceful was apparent when chowla was selected in the WC squad it was a political decision and the way they are sticking with him makes it apparent there is pressure on dhoni to keep him in the playing XI however a good captain needs to stand up for his best XI to play :

What you don't realize is that it does not matter to Dhoni whether India wins the WC or not. All that matters to him is that he gets his way, no matter what anyone says. He hates to be wrong about ANYTHING... he will NEVER admit he was wrong to pick Chawla in the first place. Its called "Massive Ego ".

What's the point of variety if you have no control and can't land even 2 balls on the same spot. He serves up 2 boundary balls every over and I shudder to think what players like Razzaq, Afridi, Cameron White, Taylor, McCullum, Dilshan, Sangakkara, Pollard, AB DeVilliers will do to him :nervous: Leg spinner with lot of variations but no control is akin to a pacer who can bowl fast but sprays the ball all over - he would go for plenty.

You are right about dishing out too many boundary balls. though I think his main problem is the lack of bounce, he doesnt get the bounce to trouble the batsmen....

I totally disagree. Chawla hasn't reached a stage where he can say he is world apart from Sachin. Atleast on current form Tendulkar can do pretty much exactly what Chawla does. Couple of googlies, one good length ball, 3 half trackers.
