Yes, Anwar was a fairly destructive batsman. The reason I picked YK is for his grittyness, consistency and unequivocal commitment. Anwar was in a league of his own, but if I had to pick between Anwar & YK, I'd pick YK.

Inzamam, Saeed Anwar, Aamir Sohail are the only Pakistani batsman to have impressed me. Everyone else are too inconsistent and dont have any flair or style. Some people say Zaheer Abbas was a great batsman but I never saw him bat.

Anwar and Inzi were the best IMO. Mohd Yousuf, for a short time, was also extremely good. As for bowlers - the Sultans of Swing, Wasim & Waqar :adore:

Waqar was one of my favourite players growing up, LOVED watching him bowl. Ive had the pleasure of meeting and chatting briefly with both Saqlain and Saeed Anwar, both thoroughly nice guys.

I wouldn't say any Pak batsman has really stood out that much for me (unlike a couple of their bowlers), but Anwar at his best was a fine player.

Like everyone here the Pakistani batsman i liked was Anwar and to some extent MoYo. Akram and Waqar were too good with the ball. Loved the way Waqar used to run in his pomp.

Funny thing is from our side players from Punjab are known as softies(few exceptions).When going gets tough we would rather have a karachite or a pathan fighting for us.
