South African Bowling

As a South African, and proud supporter of the green and gold, I have been very impressed with the Proteas performance in the world cup thus far, and I wish them well in their next match But one thing that has truly struck me is how much better our bowling has become South Africa used to be thought of as a powerful, yet inflexible bowling unit that relied almost entirely on pace to win our matches this world cup has seen a dramatic change in that area, with each of the Protea spinners performing remarkably well special mention has to go out to Robin Peterson, who I dont believe anyone really thought would make much of an impact and this is not to say that the pace bowlers have lacked form, quite the contrary Steyn, Morkel, Kallis and recently Tsotsobe have all performed admirably and have proven that despite the changes, South Africa remains a bastion of fast bowling brilliance at this moment in time, South Africa remains the only team in the world cup to have bowled out their opponents in every game that they have played in my opinion, this will be weighing quite heavily on the minds of the Proteas opponents in the knockout stages, as for the moment at least, the South African attack looks unstoppable

Biggest advantage for SA this time they have lot of unknown quantities. Duplseei, van wyk, the leggie.

Van Wyk is dangerous and Lopsy also did well in the last match Tahir has done well but he was injured during the Nagpur match would have loved to seen a mini Indo-Pak contest

Its an excellent ODI attack, really does have all bases covered.

SA thoroughly deserves the world cup win. I know it is "performance on a given day.". But their consistency needs some recognition. They have covered all the bases. Their tailenders are firing with bat which is a huge plus in a big tournament like this.

The best odi attack in the world. They were clueless against spin before, seems to me they overcame it. I have a feeling either South Africa or New Zealand will win this world cup, whoever wins the quarter will win it.

Last two editions in sub-con did produce first time champions!

but they lost to England from a winning position...they too are not perfect...all teams have equal chance this time....

Even though India got to the best start of this tournament against them, they were the only attack that looked threatening. If it wasnt for Sachin and Sehwag, Indian middle order would have struggled against them.

They have the perfect balance plus a variety which perhaps none other teams have.
