The only thing is that just because we are starting very well our opening partnership, the usefulness of Dhoni will be less visible. Agree, actually, people will blame everything from ads to weather. It is pity that everyone is so short sighted. Surely, we have already improved ourselves from last year. And if we lose, the blame should not llie on the captain only. We share the blame for setting the huge expectations at first place. ? For the rest of the Post, If the reason is because of the Huge expectations playing in front of the Home Crowd, then whats the reasoning behind numerous failures away from India?

Well I see many Fans who were Not optimistic about us winning the WC even before it started, But everyone expected or expects a Good show. I am one of them. Test Matches is not what this Tournament is about. Its ODI Cricket, we have done well in Both ODI cricket and in Test Cricket. But not in ICC Tournaments in last 7 years, barring the 2007 20-20 WC. You do not change a successfull thing to improve. Change the other parts in the team first Sucessful? This team , given the resources we have, had been there anyone to utilise it properly should do much better than what we have done. I bet, Even if you lead this side, this team cant get any worse. Even GG has won 5 out of 5 Matches when he lead.

This is good, however can only lead to arrogance. Just watch the media, pretty much sums up the majority thinking of fans. If you are going into details, lets just not play Sachin, Ashwin, Kolhi... as they have no success rate in any IPL tournaments. Surely you cannot blame the captain for all this. Absolutely correct, these stats are very useful, clearly GG is better. Maybe, now we should prevent Sachin from scoring 100s, Sehwag from playing in finals, hitting 4 runs in the first ball......

My point was, that anyone can lead this team, Dont go by MS' sucess rate to decide whether he is good enough or Not. For that i just showed that even GG can win Matches with this team.

But even if I agree with that statement, would not the likes of those players, for eg Sachin not play in any ICC tournaments, as after all whenever they have played, we have never won. Your logic, nothing more. And if you are talking about other teammates captaincy, why stop there? Have you considered their other captaincy records(eg IPL?) other than just 1 series?
