hari504504 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 hope this serves as a jinx for all the right reasons.. But will any loss before the finals usher in a change-of-guard ? new coach + new captain ? :hmmm:
straight.drive Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 This team has performed pretty well in almost all the bi-lateral series'. There would be no knee-jerk reaction. Dhoni would be pretty safe. At most Piyush chawla would never be considered for indian team. But if the loss is to Pakistanis in semi's, popularity of IPL would surely plummet
vvvslaxman Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 yup... we have some issues in big tournament. We have to get rid of that. India needs to have 3 solid days. Unlike T20 you will have time to come back in a 50 over game.
Lord Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 might well be for ODIs.hes been very defensive off late.Gambhir did well in NZ series.Sehwag is an option too
Karan114 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 might well be for ODIs.hes been very defensive off late.Gambhir did well in NZ series.Sehwag is an option too Not really. Is 32-33 and increasingly injury prone.

jpkonline Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 dhoni has been blaming bcci sometimes like complaining about ipl parties and blaming tight schedule i guess bcci will be waiting to sack him soon :nervous:
Switchblade Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 But If We Reach Semi Finals Then I Dont Think Dhoni Would Be Under Pressure Of Losing His Captaincy
hari504504 Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 But If We Reach Semi Finals Then I Dont Think Dhoni Would Be Under Pressure Of Losing His Captaincy I think that would be the biggest moment that decides..forgot who we will be playing ? :--D Stockguru tip of the week: Buy shares in companies that bulk manufacture Dhoni effigies :protest:
Sachin=GOD Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I think that would be the biggest moment that decides..forgot who we will be playing ? :--D Stockguru tip of the week: Buy shares in companies that bulk manufacture Dhoni effigies :protest: :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: But seriously I don't think there's any chance of Dhoni being sacked if we lose tomorrow :((
NareshK Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I definitely see people blaming IPL if we end up losing tomorrow's match. They'll definitely say they are playing too much cricket and getting injured or not being match fit. Or they are making too much money and they have lost interest to play for the country. They did the same thing when we lost the previous T20 championship. But I dont see Dhoni getting sacked after the loss. His record is impeccable. We havent lost a single test series under him so far, abroad or at home. We are No.2 in ODI rankings and No.1 in test rankings. That's impressive. :hatsoff:
dangerman85 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 what is dhoni's contribution in the team? just wicket-keeping and making strategies ? as a batsmen he is of no use. He should be removed from the captaincy and also from the team unless he contributes significantly in the game against australia or in the semis or finals if India reach there and India wins the game.
Andy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 He deserves the Sack if we get eliminated in the Quarters. Semis would still be acceptable IMO. But quarters No, Every time we participate in World Events or ICC Tournaments, we find us being eliminated even before the KO matches have kicked off. This Is the trend since 2004. Under MSD we have won the 20-20 WC in 2007, But after that we have played in two 20-20 WCs, one ICC KO, least the aid better it is about them. Cant take another early exit.
Aaku Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Dhoni haters :beee: MAHI MAHI MAHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII :yay:
Switchblade Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 @Andy agree with you after 2003 we have been poor in ICC tournaments barring that t20 win in 2007 at least we should try to reach the semis
Andy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 @Andy agree with you after 2003 we have been poor in ICC tournaments barring that t20 win in 2007 at least whe should try to reach the semis Yes, semis would still be better than first KO stage exit.
dangerman85 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 @Andy agree with you after 2003 we have been poor in ICC tournaments barring that t20 win in 2007 at least we should try to reach the semis just reaching the semis will not be enough this time around as we have to play pakistan in semi-final so we must win that match at any cost. if they can't do it then better lose in quarters. if India wins tomorrow then going to finals is a absolute must and a win in finals will be the best.:two_thumbs_up:
MUMBAISKIPPER Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 nope!..dhoni will continue as India captain even if we lose
Andy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 nope!..dhoni will continue as India captain even if we lose Thats what most Indians would be worried of! (Read Cricket Fans)

Sorry his averages tell another story and he is an integral part of our team batting. The only thing is that just because we are starting very well our opening partnership, the usefulness of Dhoni will be less visible. I definitely see people blaming IPL if we end up losing tomorrow's match. They'll definitely say they are playing too much cricket and getting injured or not being match fit. He deserves the Sack if we get eliminated in the Quarters. Semis would still be acceptable IMO. We share the blame for setting the huge expectations at first place.
