vvvslaxman Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Batsmen will be under more pressure than bowlers in a semi final. Because batsmen have only one chance (if Akaml keeps you get 2 or 3 chances :cantstop: ) . But bowlers can keep coming at you regardless of batsmen hit your or not. Pakistan conservative starters will eat up overs and try to keep wickets in hand to have a go at the death.
cowboysfan Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Pakistan have conservative starters?.those guys will look to attack us from ball 1.
vvvslaxman Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Pakistan have conservative starters?.those guys will look to attack us from ball 1. Nope.. they are still conservative.. Forget about the West Indies match. They always go like 60 runs in first 15 overs then go steadily till 40th and go ballistic in the end. That is how they play 90% of their ODIs. Even in champions league they were ultra conservative. They were like 50 or something in 15 overs. They scored bulk of their runs in the death overs. I dare them altering the plans.
Lord Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 when has he done well?i can only remmeber him doing well againsts rilanka in premadasa at night' date='he is useless .[/quote'] well Nehra has been taking early wickets in most games.spearheaded the attack wen Zak wasnt playing. n Sree has done well in grand 2 games against a depleted NZ side.
NareshK Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Pakistan have conservative starters?.those guys will look to attack us from ball 1. And they will start the walk back to the pavilion from ball 1. :--D
Lord Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Ashwin have bowled with new ball inside PP in IPL...so that experience will come in handy. Yes...SF against Pak is different game...but IMO..the strategy that has worked should be presisted with. as I said he hasnt bowled against subcontinent teams.will be a new thing for him
NareshK Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 well Nehra has been taking early wickets in most games.spearheaded the attack wen Zak wasnt playing. n Sree has done well in grand 2 games against a depleted NZ side. That was ages ago. His form of late since the South Africa series has been very poor. Why do you think he was dropped from the side in this World Cup ?
Lord Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 That was ages ago. His form of late since the South Africa series has been very poor. Why do you think he was dropped from the side in this World Cup ? he was injured
vvvslaxman Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 as I said he hasnt bowled against subcontinent teams.will be a new thing for him Hafeez averages 25 at a strike rate of 65.. Do you really rate him that much? :cantstop: That too in a semi final.
Lord Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hafeez averages 25 at a strike rate of 65.. Do you really rate him that much? :cantstop: That too in a semi final. that average is poor coz he cant play swing.its not like he faces spin with the new ball everyday.infact thats another reason to go with 2 swing bowlers with the new ball
zep1706 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I have said it before a few days ago, only once change needed. Drop Munna, play Sree.
Misu243 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Looks like Ashish Nehra will be in playing XI tomorrow :nervous::omg:
glogirl Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 shreeshanth wicket taking bowler...... and he is the right man for pakistan. better fielder too.
vvvslaxman Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Nehra is probably there for Afretard? He has some success against him.
Switchblade Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Sree should play with the ball seaming around coz of rain
Fontaine Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hmm. Say your in the team management' date=' pick a 2nd seamer and say why you've picked him?[/quote'] I've already answered this question in black and white. It doesn't matter who our 2nd seamer is. All three are seriously flawed. The game is going to rely on Zaheer/Yuvraj/Ashwin. And if I was team management I would be more focussed on getting Bhajji ready because he's been toothless in his bowling. He's far more important than the 2nd seamer.
