riya Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 i disagree. their team is garbage. had SL won the toss, they would have mauled them. australia just played poor cricket, not a well deserved win. and lets not forget the 184 all out in 43 overs against the mighty canadians. they were lucky to play the only team in the tournament that was crappier than them, the windies. any other team would have put them out of their misery in the QFs itself. this was like Kenya reaching the semis in 2003. they tried hard today, played the match like a the biggest game of their lives, but once india had 250+ on the board their spineless batting was always going to find things difficult. cheap talk and fake confidence doesnt win games. lets look forward to the final, where we meet a quality team. the hype led ppl to believe that this would be a close contest but it wasnt. anyway, india hasnt played their best cricket so far, and i have a feeling we'll get that perfect game on saturday. Oh come on ,you are way too cocky in your arguments.The match was close,it wasn't a one sided affair.I was nervous till the last over,honestly. They played some good cricket,i think your ego is not accepting it.But give credit where its due.

They played some good cricket,i think your ego is not accepting it.But give credit where its due. i am really not. i thought our game against australia was much closer, mainly due to their higher standard of play. the problem is that ppl are getting carried away because of the occasion. nothing wrong with that, because it was probably the biggest cricket match ever - in terms of viewership and build up. but at the end of the day, india won very convincingly. once razzaq and ukmal got out (to two fantastic deliveries BTW) pakistan were never going to catch up. india bowled brilliantly with the old ball and choked them quite easily.

Manny_Pacquiao Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Had Umar Gul Bowled well and Sachin's Wicket had gone away earlier we would've been in a great position to win. . :hysterical: and HAD wahab riyaz not bowled well enuff to get yuvraj first ball and HAD sehwag not gotten out LBW when he was hitting boundary after boundary off your premiere bowler, india WOULD'VE scored 350 and pakistan WOULD'VE lost before they even batted... see how easy it is to make up hypothetical arguments? point is pakistan rode their luck to get this far and were outclassed by an indian side that didnt even play its best cricket...accept it.

The match was over well before Misbah started hitting out and obviously he was going to score some runs at the end. Dont go by the victory margin. It was an easy win for India.

Our team were champions of champions, they were shot out and all of them went to sleep and manager had to wake them up. LOL. Sunny said it was good thing as they had no time to discuss their collapse.\ Btw Great Game. Pakistan overachieved so they shouldn't be too disappointed. They did fight well.

Iam afraid you just simply dont understand the dynamics in a Ind-Pak match ... take a look at the game in 1985/86 when we defended a mamoth total of 125 ... and trust me this bowling attack is twice as good as the one that defended 125 ... PS: I watched that match live. BB, i'm afraid most indians are overwhelmed by the tension of the situation. its true that its never over until it's over. even when misbah was hitting a few fours at the end off zaheer and it put that 'what if' thought into your mind...i know the feeling. but ultimately, we won it quite comfortably. my thinking throughout, and especially during the last 15 was that one of the pakis needed to play the INNING OF HIS LIFE to win this. which basically meant that it was more or less in the bag and we needed to **** up real bad to lose. india held their nerve very well, its the fans that cant hold theirs

I also started watching cricket around that time, but do not remember anything from 80s.. except for Shastri's man of the series down under, Chetan Sharma's hat trick, gavaskar 100 and Sachin's interview ( before he was selected for indian team)

Dhondy Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 India the better team and deserving winners. Sehwag's start...whoah! But the two stand out individual performances for me came from Riaz and Azmal. Loved the way Riaz worked over journeyman Kohli, bowling at 90+ before getting him. That's some serious talent there. And Azmal- what skill! Haven't seen many bowlers tie Sachin in knots like that. Outstanding effort from both- good to see the nice relaxed smile on their face too. Tough customers- both should serve Pakistan well. Slight concern about the number of club standard players India are carrying- Kohli, Munaf, Nehra, Pathan...the list goes on. Gambhir's done his hamstring unfortunately, which means too much riding on Sachin, Sehwag & Yuvraj- not good for the final. There's serious quality in this side, but it's pretty badly diluted by the IPL mobsters.
