Oh well, each to their own I guess. There are many other bigger factors in the world where compassion and humanity is lacking, far bigger than a game of cricket but it is a small example nonetheless. Congratulations to India though, I was not really that sad when we lost today because I knew it was not meant to be when you drop a legend 6 times in an innings. I cannot wait for the final where Tendulkar will lift the cup, he really deserves it more than any other person in cricket.

It's called SCHADENFREUDE, and as for no reason to find joy in someone else's misery- The Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy movies, Charlie Chaplin movies, Sendhil-Koundamani comedy scenes (Tamil movie fans will know), British Gangster films, Blaxploitation films, etc. are mediums that exploit schadenfreude. Apparently there is a reason. And yes, you are taking this way too personally. I'd be fine with Pakistan cricket fans gloating over an Indian defeat in the final, because that's what sports and passion are about.

The blankets sent in 2005 had the "Made in India" labels removed (from what I know) and of course, one official was quite brazen in his "$5 million is not enough when you're spending $1b in Afghanistan." tirade during a NDTV panel discussion. I can't blame that on your local populace, but I think you get my point. That said, I think we're veering off topic.

Honestly, this "vibe" that you feel vis-a-vis India and Pakistan, is not going to go away...at least not for a few generations, and probably (and this is me being brutally honest) not until you (and to some extent, we too, but you mostly) eschew overt religious hysteria/dogma for rational thought. Fortunately (or during the rare occasion, unfortunately) we have found ways to deal with these negative vibes, thanks to these internet forums where everyone can feel free to be nasty and expunge their filth, and then carry on being cordial in real life.
