is vaas gonna play?
He might replace either Murali or Mathews. Vaas and Murali OR Vaas and Mathews together is gonna be too much......:nervous: I hope India will pull through and lift the cup on April 2.

India's best chances lie with a flat track. Sanga's' date=' Sam's and Jaya's are more workmen like players, rather than Yuvraj's, Sehwag's or SRT's who like to hammer boundaries. Shorter boundaries will also have a say, because SL will not get much two's, and won't be many chances to cut off twos from Indians. Small ground with a flat track, advantage with India.[/quote'] you are absolutely right. However its really tough to prepare a flat track in india at this time of the year and with high temperature prevalent.

Genuine cricket question ( no sarcasm): whats so great about Malinga's slinga? Apart from the fact that whenever he bowls his action looks suspect and he looks like someone with the top (cleaning) part of a mop on his head running around randomly. Looks like a normal yorker to me. What sets this delivery apart?

Cant say who is injured or not...but Murli will play no matter what...even if he is denied VISA to India. He is a champion cricketer & deserve to play his final ODI game. Mathews injury is also hyped by SL IMO. He appears to move properly why batting in the SF...although needed runner. So 3 & half day rest should make him fit for final.

more often than not it takes the middle stump for a walk :--D

But that is against tail enders only, right? As a bowler, Gul had a much better tournament (till the semifinal) than Malinga. I just find this whole ' Slinga' & 'Toe Crusher' hype pure exaggerations.

Slinger bowlers are really difficult for new batsman to figure out, especially those who havent played against them before. But after a few innings, the bowling action is read by most decent batsman. However Malinga has very good control and decent pace which makes it really lethal.

Yes, Kohli and Raina are going to have extremely hard time against Malinga's slinga.

Malinga becomes more dangerous when you start hitting boundaries on his deliveries.
Well..I will like Malinga bowling of 10 - 0 - 150 - 4 rather then 10 - 1 - 30 - 0.

Yes' date=' Kohli and Raina are most likely contender to get out on Malinga's slinga.[/quote'] Ya especially early in the innings - Viru , Yuvraj and Kohli are susceptible to inswinging yorkers

No. Its usually the top order batsmen he targets (and quite often succeeds in getting out). He has'nt been that effective in this WC so far but I would'nt count him out yet. He is one of the best death bowlers around and our batting at the end has'nt been very convincing till now :nervous:

If we lose Viru, Kohli and Yuvraj really early in the innings then we are screwed. Dhoni's batting form isn't exactly what I was hoping to be. Our tail enders stand no chance. I still hope they will all play really well and win the cup.
