jpkonline Posted April 9, 2011 Author Posted April 9, 2011 I still wonder who the OP Calls as 'Youngster' Apart from Virat most had good enough Domestic or international Experience. what dhoni said was grooming youngster for the world cup with yuvi gambhir and dhoni were just 24 -25 years now in the last 3 years their became our reliable batsman we can include them in the youngster theory :winky:
achilles Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 That is some serious trolling on both the players:hysterical: We haz found Kasab's hidden associate who ran away after the "Bombay Bombing" :two_thumbs_up:
achilles Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Ganguly made the greatest comeback in the history of Indian cricket. I can't think of anyone going through so much public humiliation, needing to say in tv ads "Mein aapka Dada, bhule toh nahi", making a comeback and scoring runs at an average of 50! That takes something.
DomainK Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Hate the word "youngistan" since those crappy pepsi ads. But yes, Dhoni's move was a masterpiece. :hatsoff:
Prakat Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Ganguly made the greatest comeback in the history of Indian cricket. I can't think of anyone going through so much public humiliation, needing to say in tv ads "Mein aapka Dada, bhule toh nahi", making a comeback and scoring runs at an average of 50! Rajiv Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Dhoni is a Maverick with a Midas Touch. Things just work for him ( most of the time ) and he is not afraid of failure unlike us who post mortem everything. If you notice, he was happy for the World Cup win but it seemed just another game, he wasn't cartwheeling - just went out there, hit , bam - world cup - champage - wake up - IPL next Test Championship, Asia Cup, T20 WC, IPL Cup, Commonwealth Cup ( Aus ), Champions League, 50 LOI World Cup Dhoni - ur next assignment s Champions Trophy ( unless its been scrapped ) Fearless chap
maniac Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Ganguly's youngistan in 2003 had Nehra,Harbhajan,Sehwag,P.Patel,Yuvraj,Zaheer all 25 or under with Dinesh Mongia and Agarkar at 26 years old.Lets compare that with Dhoni's youngistan with Kohli,Raina,Chawla and Ashwin under 25 with Munaf at 26 years old This clearly tells you who laid the foundation for youngistan when you compare the quality of Ganguly's youngsters to Dhoni's youngsters...not to mention Dhoni,Gambhir,Yuvraj,Zaheer and Bhajji themselves getting a chance under Dada. This should end all arguments as to who was the creator of youngstan that today all us fans reap a benefits of
achilles Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 That was an amazing show of fortitude. Would rate that higher that Yuvi's return. Yes. And the reason Dada's comeback is one of the greatest ever is because the extent to which he was humiliated, castigated, from being India's greatest captain to an untouchable.... the way he came back was wow.
maniac Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Yes. And the reason Dada's comeback is one of the greatest ever is because the extent to which he was humiliated' date=' castigated, from being India's greatest captain to an untouchable.... the way he came back was wow.[/quote'] That's true and feel just like Sachin and Jumbo,Dada should have been asked to hold the cup as well as this is his vision that has got us here...Its amazing to see half of his prodigees still playing in this squad after 8-9 years.

Dada should've had a hand on the cup. And what an eye for talent he had. :hatsoff:
maniac Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Dhoni no doubt is a good captain and his ability to handle pressure is incredible,I would rate Dhoni as a good manager but real leaders build and lay foundation for the future with their vision.I don't want to make this another Dhoni vs Ganguly thread all I am saying is that Dhoni's youngistan just pertains to probably his teen and kid fans and definetely not his test or ODI team. If anyone wants to debate on this you are more than welcome to bump the Dhoni vs Ganguly thread.

maniac Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Then you should have posted this in that thread where it could be debated. Please read my post....This thread was referring to Dhoni and Youngistan which was what I gave my opinion about but if this hurts the sentiments of Dhoni's supporters and they start bringing up other comparisons I said we can discuss it on the other thread.

You did not talk about "other comparisons". You said and I quote "If anyone wants to debate on this you are more than welcome to bump the Dhoni vs Ganguly thread." If you think the post you are making can not be debated in the current thread, you should not have made the post on the current thread. Personally, I don't see any reason why anyone can not debate whether Dhoni's youngistan concept appeals to his teen and kid fans or older ones.
youngindia Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 but which youngsters? virat is the only youngster among batters ...rohit,manoj,uthappa right now have a unknown future and they are fast reaching 25. raina has 6 years of experience already that leaves virat, ishant, ashwin and chawla at best
Andy Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 i have come across many haters in orkut but not in icf dravid and dada fans hated him and their still hate him though most of the dravid fans have forgiven him after this world cup http://www.orkut.com/Community?cmm=52038638&hl=en Dude WTF, you serious when you talk about Orkut on ICF?:hysterical: For a Fact i know you over Orkut [Was there 2 years back]:winky:

Dhoni was the Kaptaan. Yes all were youngsters, Too many visits on Green Phorum this days?
Andy Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 but which youngsters? virat is the only youngster among batters ...rohit,manoj,uthappa right now have a unknown future and they are fast reaching 25. raina has 6 years of experience already that leaves virat, ishant, ashwin and chawla at best Exactly my point. Virat and aswin are the ones who have flourished.
akshayxyz Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Suddenly this world cup win has made Dhoni look like a superman and Youngsters as X-Men. Lets have a reality check: MOS -> Yuvraj Singh TOP batsmen -> Sachin,Gambhir, Sehwag, Yuvraj. Top Bowlers -> ZK, Yuvi, Patel, Bhajji. MSD age ->29. Also - people are underestimating the value of hardcore soft forces "inpiration", "Motivation" - which are more important than cricketing skills to bring about best in you. How many people said (or meant) - We want to win the Cup for Dhoni?, Or how many players said - Dhoni inspired us to win the cup for Sachin? Couple of talks about Sachin, Yuvi, Gambhir, Kirsten and then back to - dhoni, dhoni, dhoni, youngistan, youngistan, youngistan.... Dhoni did great with captaincy - but all this talk about youngistan & "Dhoni best ever to walk the earth" is ....crap.
