coffee_rules Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 No I am not a Paki, but I have seen 3 acts which is very puzzling and I need explanations. 1. Gambir's missed run-out chance. 18.2 Muralitharan to Gambhir, 2 runs, oh, is that a missed run-out? Gambhir punches off the back foot through point and they hurry back for two runs, the throw from the deep bounces awkwardly just short of Sangakkara, who can't take it cleanly. Had he done so, a diving Gambhir may well have been in trouble! Sanga's take was very weird. He kind of jumped higher than the ball had bounced and had an awkward take. Nobody would do that normally. You pick the ball and go for the stumps. 2. Kula's missed catch. 13.3 Randiv to Gambhir, 2 runs, Kula drops it at long off. Not the smartest shot from Gambhir, looking to drive from leg stump, inside out and between cover and long off, he ended up spooning it towards the right of Kula, who was late to run in and dive forward and to the right. How crucial is that? Diving , the ball is dropping short, Kula didn't join the hands or clasp to take the catch until the last minute. Diving effort, look at Nehra's catch of Afretard. Hands go clasped going for the catch. Kula didn't do it well. 3. Malinga's diving save or not: 19.4 Randiv to Kohli, FOUR, wrong line, and bad fielding. Oh dear. Randiv turns this one down leg and Kohli flicks it off his hips, Malinga at fine leg runs around and should have cut this off, he's done the old Sydney Harbour Bridge dive, the ball sails under his body The ball was within reach, Malinga could have just stretched his hands, instead he dived over it. There was no need to drive. Hope they were just one-off acts. It's very difficult to fix matches, it could have been something one cannot explain. Just wanted the rant out.
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The habit of projecting every incompetent act on the field as some kind of underhand activity was started by Pakistanis. Let us not follow it. If we start doing that every test match, one dayer ever played must have been a fixed match. It is impossible both teams play perfect match and one of them got run over by other.
kabira Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 >No I am not a Paki If you are not yet Paki, you are getting there bro.
DomainK Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Jula's dropped catch was not weird. He reacted a second late and messed it up, we see that quite often on a cricket field. Yes, Sanga doing an Akmal is weird. It was probably the pressure. So we know it now, like coal becomes diamond under extreme pressure, Sanga mutates into Akmal under pressure. The third one is just a plain mis-field.
satyam1729 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Did you watch how Zaheer gave 35 runs in his last 2 overs and Kohli misfield ?
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Kohli letting a 4 through his leg - weird Zaheer bowled 5 wides towards the end - weird ..
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Tendulkar getting out early - weird Viru missing a straight ball - weird Gambhir got out at 97 instead of 100 plus - weird
Sachin=GOD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 India won the game..........................weird (according to the Pakis at least).
coffee_rules Posted April 4, 2011 Author Posted April 4, 2011 I can get convinced about the catch. He went for it and then decied to field it and not let it to the boundary. So, that split second delay could make it look weird. The other two were not mere misfields, just some odd ones that is unexplainable. Will watch it again and see. But believing these as evidence of match fixing is not on. I doubt that even the BD-Pak 99 WC match is fixed. It's very difficult to fake the effort put in. I don't believe it, just some ranting.
ganeshran Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 if it was fixed damn bcci should have let sachin make his century

I do not think teams are involved in match fixing these days except may be pakistanis.. that too spotfixing. Teams just use it as an excuse for their pathetic performance on the field. IN a high pressure game you are likely to make more mistakes.
ganeshran Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 If at any point in future, there comes even a shred of evidece that this match was fixed, I will stop watching cricket. Period. But for now, let me celebrate :aha:

I'd rather have my team being rubbish than a bunch of cheats. Why would you accuse your own team of fixing?
vvvslaxman Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I've never understood this. I'd rather have my team being rubbish than a bunch of cheats. Why would you accuse your own team of fixing? The thing is no team accepts they are cheats. It is only their supporters who like to label their players as a cheats drop off the hat. Especially the old farts do this a lot. They just say "it is fixed" without analysis, cricketing logic. These guys should be sued if they hold any cricket related position.
JourneyMan Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Malinga has done that in every other match. He's a great bowler but a useless fielder. Dropped catches? Happens a lot. Sanga was unusually slow but he was nervous as well.
akshayxyz Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Why no one is talking about Sreesanth :dontknow: ?
