Rajiv Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 wat is this? era of nastiks? One God ( Sachin ) is enough
King Tendulkar Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 You sir' date=' believe that the paath poojas shown on tv regarding the WC did the trick for us :woot: ?[/quote'] Well it is 5-0!:giggle:
JourneyMan Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Praying for their team is their own problem, but to suggest that it's truth vs falsehood is stupid considering that there are more Muslims in India than in the no-mans land between India and Afghanistan.
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 ^^ ..thats the 1st, concept of God is Important! more like blind acceptance. Good stuff If it was not important, it would have been extinct by now. The concept exists because it still helps a large population to calm their nerves/anxiety and focus their energy on tasks at hand. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as - believers don't come after non/different-believers with words like - you are infidel, be prepared to burn in hell. I trust evolution and science, but evolution applies to evolution of thoughts/beliefs also. And religion is one such product of society. Also do not forget, religion is also a good tool for powerful people to control/manipulate masses. So it is not going to go away any soon.
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Bottom Line/End of the day? The concept of religion is important. It does not matter which side you are. P.S. I did not say whether it is important for progress/survival or not.
Guest Shivani Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 whats wrong if i go like "bhagwaan please please pleaseeeee jeetwa dena " its all cool :dontknow:
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 In fact it is even more important to understand how it works if we want to see it off. Or whether it can exist w/o its negatives and yet contribute positively.
punjabiplaya Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 People in all forms of life pray, some pray when there desperate, some pray before exams, interviews, basically people use prayer as a crutch or comfort, many sportsman do it to calm themselves and steady there nerves,if it helps them then good for them. But weather you believe in god is another issue, but i agree that God wont be favouring any team.... he doesnt need to... as KT said the good lord looked down n said its 4-0 no probs 5-0 soon!! We the mighty india need no help! pakis are beyond help... :winky:
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Even Richard Dawkins prays - "God please leave "
flamy Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Lets be fair guys. Fans of all countries and beliefs pray for their team's win. It's hypocritical to laugh at others. I didn't pray.
Rajiv Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 LOL, well then there's only 1 thing to say on perception of God "Jo de uska bhi bala, jo na de uka bhi bala"
ravishingravi Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 There is also a major disconnect between those who say "God willing" after every sentence, but start kicking and screaming when things don't go their way. Paradox of religion
Rajiv Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I thought religion and god were 2 different things. You can be of a certain religion ( sect ) and yet feel free to think the way you want
akshayxyz Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 There is also a major disconnect between those who say "God willing" after every sentence' date=' but start kicking and screaming when things don't go their way. Paradox of religion[/quote'] excellent point. I hope you or someone created such post on padosi site. I want to see how they justify that.
