Cricket Tragic Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Sehwag Tamim Sangakkara Tendulkar Kallis Laxman Dhoni (Captain) Swann Steyn Zaheer Anderson
Prakat Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 :nice: TBH a little surprised to see Zak make this team.
Sir_Afridi Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 All batsman in this team are great. All of them except Tamim average 50+. Zaheer & Anderson both average 30+ . Asif & Aamir both average in 20s and would have selected ahead of these 2 if not for NOTW
Cricket Tragic Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 :nice: TBH a little surprised to see Zak make this team. 47 wickets in 9 tests at an average of 21. The only bowler in the world with a better average was Steyn and it was marginal (0.5 difference I think).

Clarke Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 5 Indian players in the XI, what a year! All batsman in this team are great. All of them except Tamim average 50+. Zaheer & Anderson both average 30+ . Asif & Aamir both average in 20s and would have selected ahead of these 2 if not for NOTW Why skip Afridi, he's on sick leave ?
BeautifulGame Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Anderson has to be one of the most overrated players playing now. Morkel should be there instead of him .
rkt.india Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 All batsman in this team are great. All of them except Tamim average 50+. Zaheer & Anderson both average 30+ . Asif & Aamir both average in 20s and would have selected ahead of these 2 if not for NOTW its not about career average here. Its about how their performance was in 2010. Zak 9 matches 47 wickets at an average of 21 where most of the tests he played were in subcontinent.
CoverDrive Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Actually Dhoni is the only surprising pick but then none of the other Wicketkeepers did anything special in Tests so he is the only choice.
akshayxyz Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 What is Tamim doing there - quota system or what? There are so many better players - Smith, Strauss, Cook - and even Amla can be moved up the order.

There are so many better players - Smith, Strauss, Cook - and even Amla can be moved up the order. please take a look at tamim's performances in 2010. not only the statistics, but the conditions he's played in.
Sidhoni Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Actually Dhoni is the only surprising pick but then none of the other Wicketkeepers did anything special in Tests so he is the only choice. r u kidding.? :finger: u r leaving out the world's best captain, and 2010 was a gud year 4 him with the bat, esp. in the series agains sl, he scored 2 centuries in that series.
