If those critical set of guys fail to deliver match-winning performances, that is when they struggle to win games. Contrast that to CSK, whose list of MoM winners include; Vijay Hussey Badri Dhoni Morkel Bollinger Saha Anirudh Thats 8 different MoM winners, in 9 wins.
