Cricket Tragic Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A84076392 some feedbacks don't look encouraging. I mentioned it earlier in this thread but the BCCI has made it clear that he will NOT be involved with selection. So that solves most of the problems. Eric Simmons is there as a known face for everyone and the senior players (Dhoni, Tendulkar, Sehwag) met Fletcher in SA. He just needs to not be a negative. That would be a positive. :cantstop: The seniors run the show and make all the decisions. He can help with strategy and batting techniques (reputed for both). Good enough.
vvvslaxman Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A84076392 some feedbacks don't look encouraging. Fletcher coaching is as warned
asterix Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=276365 At that time some members mentioned criticising Fletchchu as 'wrist slitting'..
Yoda-esque Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Fletcher coaching is as warned Ah,the good old days of 606! :((
Ultimate_Game Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 There has to be some sort of review for the coach. It's been a year already and we haven't seen anything from the coach so far. Why exactly is he still the coach :dontknow: If you want to have a coach for the sake of it, hire me instead. I would come cheaper than the fatso and can't possibly do any worse.
Stuge Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Reason? any reason you think he should stay ? barring players responsibility argument .
Crookbond Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 any reason you think he should stay ? barring players responsibility argument . I'm wondering what has changed since he took charge. I wouldn't like him around the WC if he continues to not have any effect but yet a bit to early. I am also curious as to what can he do different.

To add salt to wounds we have infights going on. Players take pot shots at other players in the press willy nilly. Strategies don't look inspiring. Team selections is also bizzarre. I am not sure what his role in team as a coach.
akshayxyz Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I'm wondering what has changed since he took charge. I wouldn't like him around the WC if he continues to not have any effect but yet a bit to early. I am also curious as to what can he do different. that is what, nothing changed ( team is almost same), he is the only differential, and not to mention white washes. And as vvs said above.
akshayxyz Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Never respected a coach who is fat. How can he expect players to be fit. How can he lead fielding drills when he looks like a giant walrus. Its time for Dunkin Donuts Fletcher to leave except "Gus Hiddink".
ViruRulez Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 He should be sacked now. Irrespective of the team performance it does not seem he is doing any good to the team. The team has not improved in anything ever since he joined but instead went down the line rapidly. It is better to not have a coach then to have a coach who is not providing any benefit to the team. Even Manoj Tiwary did not get a single game in two series. Many team selections and other decisions have been absurd. He is definitely not helping in anything related to Indian cricket.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Still not as fat as(s) Dunkin Donuts If you give me a multi-million dollar contract I am willing to blow up that much (might take me a few months to get there though) and coach Team India
Vijy Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Oh, goody, goody. Duncan made us look like **** in Tests and **** in ODIs. I look forward to the future with anticipation. :two_thumbs_up:
Crookbond Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hiddink for Team India cricket coach -- why not!
The Outsider Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Not defending Fletcher, but the problems with the team are much deeper than Fletcher. Don't take the correlation of when he became the coach and India's poor performances as causality. With the role of a coach it's very difficult for someone not involved with the setup to assess performances. One can perhaps for a specialist bowling, batting, or fielding coach, but for a generic coach we don't even know what exactly his responsibilities are in the setup and if he is doing them right. On the other hand, the malaise with the team is obviously on field performance primarily and there is no accountability for the top players. Even after so many repeated drubbings and repeated failures from the core of the batting, no one is close to being dropped.
