1983-2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Kochi fast bowler Prasanth Parameswaran has hailed Sreesanth as a "great motivator" following his impressive start to his IPL career. The 25-year-old has been a big hit with the Tuskers Kerala fans after making his debut against the Delhi Daredevils on May 2. Parameswaran was welcomed to the IPL with a massive six over long-off by Virender Sehwag. However, he hit back two balls later to claim the Indian opener's wicket. He finished the match with two for 29 in four overs. Parameswaran says he wasn't nervous before facing India's big-hitting Sehwag and credits skipper Mahela Jayawardene for helping after the first-ball massacre. "When Sehwag hit me for a six off the first ball, Mahela asked me to drag the length back, and it paid off!" the left-armer told Rediff.com during an interview. "I expected him [sehwag] to go after my bowling, so I was prepared for it. "I wasn't nervous, as I knew what was expected off me. The format is such that batsmen are bound to go after you. "Instead, as a bowler, you have to outwit the batsmen in the IPL." It's not always easy to adapt to life in the IPL, but Parameswaran - who has played only two matches so far - hasn't had too many problems, thanks to Indian fast bowler Sreesanth. "Sreesanth is a great motivator. He shares his experiences in the dressing room, which helps you grow as a player," he said. "During practice sessions, or even tournaments, he is always there to guide you. And with four more Malayalees in the ranks, the camaraderie we share in Kochi Tuskers is good." He added: "I was called in as a nets bowler to assist Tuskers in the preparatory camp in Kochi. And now I'm here, and happy to be a part of the Tuskers. It's still like a dream!" Parameswaran hopes to emulate Tinu Yohannan and Sreesanth who have represented India. "They have been a major factor in Kerala's cricket. I want to bowl like Sree.
