I have a question regarding how monetization happens here on ICF. Is ICF just a charity service running on the SiteFounder's money? It is amazing indeed if that is the case. If not, why are the owners not trying to put some advertisements given the heavy popularity of the site already!!!!!!!

The vast majority of the bills have been paid by Ravi (King) who has refused to take any contributions from others.

Primarily because all the site founders don't think of it as a commercial entity, have healthy professional and personal lives to really prioritize efforts in marketing etc.
^ I already see ads below the first message and on the site banner. :dontknow:
Those are just google ads, nothing site dedicated or specific and hardly get $15-20 per month.

Those are just google ads' date=' nothing site dedicated or specific and hardly get $15-20 per month.[/quote'] I think you meant 15-20$ per day. Given the traffic on ICF, it should be per day. :hmmm:

If ICF is moved to better servers which can handle load more easily, then I'm sure some of us can also contribute to the bills and get better user experience.

daym' date=' I thought I could convert my ICF$ to real coin. :O[/quote'] You can!!! According to xe.com, the current exchange rate is 4.26352 ICF $$ = 1 USD. Just transfer all your ICF$$ to me and message me your bank account number. I will deposit the USD equivalent in your account. Deal? :deal:

Those are google ads lol
Ok but if Google ads are only getting ICF 15-20$ per month, doubt if dedicated sites would get much more. Unless the advertisers pay per impression rather than per click

Unless the advertisers pay per impression rather than per click[/quote'] You are right that it would not make on ly $15-20 a month but it is not that big too. Google ads are not pay per impression or PPC but a combination of both and is called eCPM. Being a google adsense publisher for several years with loads of sites I can make the following hypothesis and very nearly conclusions. The cons are: 1. Forums get the lowest CTR (click through ratio) amongst websites which means the ratio of visitors clicking on ads in a forum is very less compared to other kinds of websites. So, that is the first disadvantage for which ICF being a forum will earn a bit less. 2. The google adsense ads are shown only 1 time per visitor per visit if I am not incorrect. So, the impressions and clicks would be lesser. 3. Cricket is not a very high paying niche from my experience and Indian traffic is not that highly valued too. So, the click rates wont be that good too. The pros in favor of ICF are: 1. ICF is somewhat of an authority website in its niche. Normally, adwords advertisers prefer to advertise in authority websites compared to small blogs etc. So, due to somewhat advertiser competition the click rates go a bit high as google always sells ad spots to the highest bidding advertisers. So, the click rates of ICF would probably be higher amongst other websites in the same niche. 2. It is a common perception amongst webmasters though might not be true that the click rates are usually higher if you place less ads on a page. The reason for that is because there is very less real estate on that website and so more competition amongst advertisers to advertise on that website in the limited ads displayed in the website. So, with only one ad per visitor/IP the click rates should be higher. Taking into consideration the above points, my guess would be that ICF makes anywhere between $75-150 or perhaps a bit more every month. However, cannot make better predictions without knowing the average pageviews as the alexa ranking is not an exact measure of the traffic as I can say from my own experiences. But it is surely not as low as $15-20 though it is not very high too for sure.
