To be frank, I enjoy Hoggy's commentary not because he is good at commentating but because he regularly provides some WTF moments which are unintentional but genuinely funny. He is extremely loud mouth, rude on co-commentators, umpires and players and have very strong views. He gives a different perspective to otherwise boring commentary. Some of the WTF moments I can recall from back of my mind. 1) He was interviewing Symonds, Symonds repeated twice that pitch is two faced, next question Hoggy asks " Is this pitch two faced". Symonds was pissed off :) 2) Square-leg umpire refers a stumping decision to third umpire, Hoggy is going mad for time-wasting. He doesn't stop his ranting no matter what. 3) During his interview with Taufel, he asks why umpires are very strict on legside wides, Taufel gives an answer, but our dear Hoggy is not to relent. He is asking the same question again. Simon doull is embarrassed and he chips in to improvise the situation. There are lot of WTF moments he provides and I started liking his commentaty. Go Hoggy.
Agree bizzarely fing Hogg compelling. Talks total nonsense 90% of the time. Reminds me of a more boorish, yobbish Lal

I find Mike Haysman extrememly annoying. I do know that commentators fill half the air time by stating the obvious, but he gives the expression a whole new level of meaning. And he is repitetive. Brad hogg comes in second place. Like @uberfest said, he provides so many WTF moments. Dany Morrison is tolerable. But the worst is Sidhu...the guy doesn't know when to stop. Overall, the presentation of the IPL has gone down. The pre match shows are idiotic and hardly anybody talks about cricket.

Youthappa' date='DFL maximum,Adressing Simon Taufel as Simon Doull, this man has done it all [/quote'] :cantstop: Add Instant Sharma, RP Swing to that list

Is he the worrst we have seen so far in the IPL? Pretty loud mouth, talks BS all the time like a mad dog. I know there are many bad commentators but IMO no one (even LSRK) can top him. What do you say?
wow man you hit the nail right in the head. i've same feelings about this dumb*****

Brad Hogg has come a long way to reach the no.1 worst commentator. But he doesn't have tough competitors as Arun "the crow" Lal is sitting in the studios.

Not to generalize, but Aussie commentators are usually quite blunt and direct I know because I've listened to them commentate rugby and cricket for years I personally dont mind it, but I can see how it could get on someones nerves
If they are blunt against everybody then I would not mind but this guy Hogg like all Aussies is openly praising Aussies and rarely says a bad word about them .He was outraged when Callum Ferguson was coming after Mithun Manhas in last match.

And you think Manhas is a better T20 batsman than Ferguson?

He might not be but it is not like Ferguson is second coming of Bradman, his highest score in this IPL is 15, no need to throw fit about that which Hogg was doing when Mithun got out first ball.

I think that settles the discussion.

lot lesser batsmen have come up the order for Pune than Yuvraj, I didn't hear him throwing a fit then thats why I found that very odd during that match.

Yeah i remember that. And Symonds looked at him full gusse mein and said, "for the third time, mate...it is!" Mereko laga ki Symonds usko abhi bajane wala hai
